The drag out of Peter. That's it from this EP.

Only thing I disliked was that there was no Red and Blue Lincoln interaction, and still no Walternate. It's making me wonder if Walternate isn't seeing and hearing Peter as well, which is kind of sad because whatever the case maybe - that's still HIS Peter and he was the one initially hurt. I know it all takes time, but I would have liked even a small scene with Walternate in the same way that we see that Alt.Broyles and is tight t-shirts are both alive and well.

This episode is really boring and slow-paced. There is more talk than action, and all the voices are toned down, very monotonous and boring. It somehow makes the sci-fi/fantasy parts much less believable, especially with the soundtrack that sounds eerier because of it.
I never heard "Damn!" whispered so low and breathed in a movie or TV show, I would expect the walls to shatter when using this expletive. So disappointed... :[

I've generally always liked the acting performances. However, a couple scenes for John Noble disappointed me in the first 2 episodes

- Over the top acting coming out of the tank when compared to his demeanor in the previous scene
- His expression when seeing Peter in the TV almost made me laugh
- Hearing peter's voice transitioning into sped up video with the classical music
* That scene was a problem with directing more than Noble though IMO. The scene didn't need to be rushed.

I did like the scenes in the lab where Walter was covering everything reflective and the scene with stack of speakers. I felt those were more believable portrayals of Walter being crazy.

I didn't love it, but it was soooo much better than last week which was just dismal. At least this week there as a decent story, the actor was terrific, AND they toned down the dull LL character's screen time. This was beneficial. the Alt-Lincoln is just so much more interesting..no Charlie though!
The two Olivias stuff was cleverly shot and performed, although...if the series is an ensemble piece then there is just not enough balance between the characters. Still no Nina.
Overall IMHO it was okay, but again the pace and sense of mutedness does not make it an easy watch- I can't see how this tone would pull in new viewers, some of us faithful ones are struggling to stay with it...at the end of the day it's supposed to be entertaining. if this 'mood' lasts for much longer then I might have to give up. I'm watching old eps to keep myself in the groove.

Charlie may not come back - he's in LA doing a new show Prime Suspect with NBC. We might get him later on in the season if that show gets cancelled.

I liked the episode a LOT for its merits, but I felt like it was a waste of time. It would have made a great season 3 episode. However, I hated that the whole Peter thing was relegated to being hinted at in the first part of the show, and then 10 seconds at the end. They have a lot to do this season and they didn't need to waste an episode as one long metaphor for Peter's loss.

When the Professor remembered Marjorie's lesson, just not the person, and Broyles dropped his lead-baloon hint about people leaving indelible marks on us, I felt like the whole thing was one big allegory. Yes, we get it, people's lives can take different courses, and people can have a big impact on us even if we don't remember them. Let's get on with it! We have too many loose ends to tie up this season . . . . let's move on, get Peter back, and figure out how to fix what's broken.

I agree with a lot of what you have to say. I also caught on to the fact that the episode was meant to be a metaphor for the impact of Peter's loss, especially on Walter and Olivia, but despite that, I still found the MotW to be kind of boring. I did enjoy the interactions between the regular characters, especially seeing the Olivias working together, but I think the episode would have been better if the MotW wasn't as slow moving.

I am going to put this in spoiler tags since it has to do with whether a character will be returning to the show or not, and I guess that would be a spoiler. I heard that Kirk Acevedo may come back for a few episodes, so we might get to see him this season, just not sure when. I am a fan of his character so I do hope he makes some appearances.

Ryan T you are so right!!! Sorry I tried to use your quote but it wouldnt work for some reason.
i think we get the small changes/choices make big changes thing...Firefly, White Tulip, 6B...all fantastic eps made this point clear...We get it honest!!!! Can we move on??
If this is the last series, and it looks given viewing figures it will be, then I want as much of my favourite characters as I can get...Peter/Walter/Nina...and so far I am robbed totally on two counts and suffering a definite shortage of Walter...For two eps now we have had to watch a minor and seemingly unimportant and not very interesting character take centre stage and Olivia to be two characters...but nada on the others. although ONIO was considerably better and Oliva was better performed and drawn, it's still way too slow and monotonous. I know someone has an interesting theory that we might be looking at the original team (the one that wasn't very successful before the Peter/Walter/Olivia combo...) and that LL might be a missing link, but I don;t really care...I want the last series to focus on the characters we knew and loved and resolve it..and not head into LOST territory, which was a betrayal of the hours invested. I hated the way stories were introduced and then just forgotten, and that it never made any sense in the end..I hope this reboot on Fringe doesn't do the same.

Roxiestar- i guess if that character was not returning, they would have just written him as dead in the reboot. the fact that they said he was elsewhere made t sound like they were keeping the door open for him. I do hope so.
