We don't have a thread for this, and I thought it'd be pretty cool to see what kind of music everybody likes, and who has similar tastes!
Well, Kaiser Chiefs are my favourite band, by far. Other than them, I love The Fray, Green Day, The Clash, and Friendly Fires. A load more as well, but mainly those'uns at the moment!

I suppose Interpol is my favourite band, no Muse....ah it's a contest between the two. This a lot harder to answer than it seems lol. Ya Interpol and Muse are my favourites and then I pretty much like everything else, like Elbow, The Cardigans and Fred...ya there is no point in me saying who else I like because I would be here all day, but you get the idea. ^_^

Personally I think they're pretty awesome, but everyone to their own, you know. You should check out their Myspace or something :happy15:

Too awesome.:haha:
I have say it's always a toss up between Blur and Oasis. Oasis have more that I like, Blur's are more entertaining. If I compare my two favourites, (Wonderwall & The Universal) Wonderwall wins by a fraction.

^ I haven't heard of them. What are they like?
I'm finding it really hard to choose a favourite right now! For years, it was Green Day. But they've been gone since American Idiot, and Kaiser Chiefs more than filled that gap for me. But now Green Day are back, and their new stuff, from what I've heard so far, sounds incredible! But I'm still loving Kaiser Chiefs, and I've seen them live 4 times now. So I guess it's a tie! :P

By far my favourite bands are the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Muse! I went to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs last night - Karen O is SOOO awesome!!! :shiny:Completely and utterly bonkers but amazing lady! And Muse...need I say more?!
Not a massive fan of the Kaiser Chiefs! I liked them when they first came out and I like some of their songs but I truly hated Ruby - I makes me think of Scooby Doo!
Blur Vs Oasis - Definitely Blur all the way! Oasis have some amazing songs but I can't listen to a whole album in one go as they start to sound the same! When they're played separately I LOVE them though! Don't look back in Anger and Wonderwall are brilliant songs! Whereas with Blur I could listen to whole albums on repeat and shuffle/random for hours! That may have had something to do with the fact I used to have a huge crush on Damon Albarn though! :ashamed0001: Not to take anything away from their awesome songs though!!!

Myspace says its Industrial Pop.
It sometimes reminds me a little bit of Mika, but the Adam's (the singer) voice is much more comfortable to hear.
The music is always happy, even if the lyrics are somethat devastating sometimes but it really depends on the songs.
I could send you a track, if you're interested ^^ (~> pm.)

Ruby's not their best song- it's catchy, it's done well, and everyone knows it, but I prefer a lot of their other stuff.

Hell yeah :happy15: Blur > Oasis anyday, IMO. You said it right- a lot of Oasis' stuff blends into one for me. Don't get me wrong, they've done some good stuff, but give me Blur anyday.

Huge fan of Arch Enemy and Trivium (and like most of the others). I too enjoy classical on occasion - I think its our love of "dramatic" music.
My favorite band however is Into Eternity. They combine everything I love and are at the top of their game right now.

Sissel. She sang the "ah..." in the Titanic. IMHO, she is the best female singer outside the opera circle. Her voice is so pure. Watch her videos on "Y-O-U-T-U-B-E" and I'm sure you will find her amazing too.

I hate to be a music snob, but I'm kinda disappointed in you guys. I guess you're all more into good television than good music. Like I said I hate sounding sanctimonious but not too many people here really listen good, art music. I saw some Radiohead, which is good. No one seems to be listening to any progressive or artistic music. How about Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Between the Buried and Me, Dillinger Escape Plan, Meshuggah, Andrew Bird, Sigur Ros, Tool, Neurosis, Mastodon, Animals as Leaders, Allan Holdsworth, and many others? Am I all alone? Being a musician myself I have a fairly high standard for the music that I listen to.

:observer::tiphat:
I realize that, and I agree with you to a certain extent, but there is a place where it stops being a matter of preference and becomes a matter of integrity. Like I said I hate to judge other people's tastes because I realize that some people listen to music as merely entertainment, and others listen to it as a sophisticated art form, I just happen to like the latter side of things. Ask musicians, they will tell you that the stuff that most people listen to is not art but entertainment. You folks are not that bad, and none of you seem to listen to really, extremely shallow music (except for maybe Green Day, sorry to judge :P), but most people aren't interested in the artistic side of things, which is fine, I'm just surprised that there aren't more people that are interested in the artistic and ambitious side of music who are fans of an artistic and ambitious show as well. Again some of you will disagree with me but music is like my television. I only watch a few shows (Fringe being one of them), but I listen to music a lot. I've gotten to a point where I can really only listen to exciting, artistic and ambitious music. Until you are a musician, or at least an extremely musical listener, it's hard, and not a priority, to listen to music that is deep. Like I said earlier you folks are probably more into television than music, which again is fine. Please pardon me if I sound arrogant, as I'm not trying to be. Think of it like this: Picasso wouldn't draw stick figures fighting with katanas and art critics wouldn't look at that, but that doesn't mean that drawing stick figures fighting with katanas is bad or looking at pictures of that is bad.
