I can't take credit for this, since this was posted elsewhere on the web, but thought you guys would like to know.

Very cool find!
I was looking through them, and if the two letters after the subject # are initials, this one must be Olivia:
Test Subject 42 OD 83 P*
Plus, there's an asterisk on it, so that indicates something. The P/N at the end must mean positive and negative.
There's also this one:
Test Subject 1 PB 80 P PB = Peter Bishop? It's the first test subject, so it may very well be him.

Hurm.
I somehow doubt that this an official site -- especially given the misspellings

Yeah, looks fan-made. :
domain: cortexifan.com created: 11-Feb-2009 According to their domain reg details, it was created the day after Ability aired on Fox. Very convenient :D If it were official, I think they (as in Fox, or their ARG associates) would have snapped it up prior to the airing.
Thanks for sharing though RQ.

I've maintained before, the spelling for the imaginary word depends on where you come from. ;)
I think this drug will come into play soon. I only wish I'd been given the drug pre-puberty. :reader:

I've always gone with Cortexiphan (although I kinda wish it were Cortexifam as in cortex/family).
I'm assuming that the owner of the fake website used Cortexifan as a play on words?
Anyway, I'm sticking with Cortexiphan until we get confirmation in the show, or from the writers.:hope:

darn, that website looked pretty cool.

Ah, thank you, I thought I saw it officially somewhere as Cortexiphan. It also seems more scientific than "fan".
I think this goes to show that Bad Robot needs to put out more viral stuff duing hiatuses :happy15: We're dying over here!

oh well....:ashamed0001:
I did some add'l checking. www.cortexiphan.com (http://www.cortexiphan.com) was registered in January by the same company used to register the Massive Dynamic website. cortexifan.com was registered by a different company in February.
I completely agree, Bad Robot needs to give us more to do. Hopefully they will get the hint and do something during the break between seasons.
Trying to remain hopeful....

Is it a fact that the show has done no viral marketing at all during the hiatus? I read no Twitter, but that was it.
Any of the younger (and/or) more techno-savvy fans or moderators here know?

I'm unaware of any viral marketing during this hiatus and that sucks! I was thinking they would for sure give us some, but so far, it's not looking good. Especially since the show returns in a week! (YAY!!! :party0011: Only one more week to go!!! :D )

I got majorly creeped out by it. But I think the "we" refers to JJ Abrams and co meaning that it was not part of the viral campaign and they have taken it off the internet to show that the site has no affiliation with the FRINGE franchise. (Studying copyright law so I'm using the jargon :D)

I certainly hope that's true...because it would be so much less creepy.
But why be so...mysterious and blunt and creepy about it?
Why not say "JJ Abrams and blah-blah such-and-such own this site..." or contact the domain to take it off completely?
MrSuperCzar
06-02-2009, 03:32 PM
Because it's JJ and co, :) It has to be creepy with those guys, ha. At least it does when you think Cloverfield site. Oh and I may be being paranoid but I think ARG has been updated - the airplane that has just gone missing completely on a flight from the Caribbean to France. 815 anyone?

Thank you!! So I'm not the only one?!! Finally - I've been getting some 'you are so weird/obessed/crazy/freak-o comments from my friends when I brought it up so it's a relief to find someone who suspects the same. I don't know if it's true or not or what but if it is part of the ARG then OMFG. I wonder if JJ is going to say something about it in an interview or something, just to clear things up.
I do have my doubts however about something this big - it being on the news and everything - being faked, if they would even publisise it to this extent but then again they did put the Observer in Idol, NASCAR and football so maybe....

Unfortunately this was a real-life and very tragic event. Definitely not part of any ARG:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article6425236.ece
I'm not sure what would give the impression that this was ARG related?
MrSuperCzar
06-03-2009, 07:19 PM
I don't know, I guess it was just a thing that kind of hooked in my head. Please don't misconstrue that I am disregarding the tragedy of it, I'm not. I just wasn't sure, that's all. I apologize sincerely if it sounds as if I'm being glib about it. I guess the idea just kind of got into my head, sorry.

Nah, it's not an ARG...although, I certainly wish it was. Debris from the plane was found in the ocean and the president is meeting with the people on boards' families. But yes, that was the very first thought I had before the story got so huge.
EDIT: Sorry, D-Roc already said this and I didn't realize it. And I totally understand what you meant, MrSuperCzar, I think we all wish it was an ARG.

Nah, it's cool - I can see you were simply mistaken. I Thought it best to provide accurate information rather than let you think it was ARG-related.

If you hover your mouse over the frog, you get "WBwashere" (William Bell was here)
MrSuperCzar
06-08-2009, 05:01 PM
Yeh I was the one that suggested that was what happened though I don't knwo for sure (hence 'suggested'). Just thought it made general sense tbh.
[EDIT] - Th WB could also stand for Walter Bishop, but I think I'll agree with you and say William Bell.

anybody else notice the writing on the frogs leg?
to me it looked like C20H25N3
with some googleing there were a bunch of chemical type links. but the one that stuck out to me the most was LSD. thats right the chemical formula for LSD is c20 h25 n3o. so with just the addition of a O the WB was here frog is getting trippy

Whoah, it's changed again...
this is most definitely a fake now, I think...the site now says that it's been liquidated by the Trustees, and then it redirects you to a search engine. xD
EDIT; I take that back. Apparantly, if you follow the website to where the domain is being sold, there's a site that is possibly a viral by Fox. *shrugs* i can't really explain it very well...
