Hello all, I just joined the boards , but like you all here I cannot get enough of the show.
This is something I have been thinking about. We never really learn anything about Peter's mother.
I have a couple of thoughts:
1. Nina Sharp
2. Peter is actually a clone of Walter.
Looking forward to reading responses to these ideas.

Well, it's safe to assume that whoever she is, she is someone Walter dislikes very much. The fact that Peter doesn't talk about her at all is curious though...

I was thinking about this last night actually, there have been many references to Peter's mother, usually in the form of Walter telling how much Peter is like her and how Walter doesn't want Peter to be like her. I don't know if there is actually anything to this, but it has popped up a few times throughout the season.

We've been told that we may have already seen Peter's mother, so this would lean towards the Nina sharp theory, which I believed in for a very long time. She mentioned before now that her and Walter spent a lot of time together when Peter was younger, that they were 'quite close', and she also gave us the impression that she spent a lot of time around Peter when he was a child. Walter and Nina also have yet to meet again in the series, so I can't wait to see what happens when they do ;)
But now, Peter's made a deal with Nina, and he talks about his mother every now and then, so I think he'd remember who his mother is. The theory of him being Walter's clone is a good one. He could have just been told that Walter's wife as his biological mother, and being a small boy, having that bond and growing up with her, why wouldn't he believe it? It just seems to obvious as the writer's have known since the beginning that this has been the major theory that has been circulated.
I've thought and talked about this quite a lot, and I think at the moment I'm not really willing to settle on any one of the theories. I'm sure whatever it'll be will be suprising, 'Fringey' and maybe even a little disturbing. It is one of the biggest reveals I'm waiting for though! :D

I can't remember, I'm pretty sure It was an early interview with one of the writers. Is this considered a spoiler?

According to Walter, Peter's mother is not very scientific, so I really doubt it's Nina. And I don't really think a clone would be Fringey enough for Peter's reveal--though I devoutly hope they don't make it one of those teeny-bopper evil twin things, where there is a good Peter and a bad one, that only the writers can tell apart. Soooo been done already.
I'm thinking Kathleen Turner would be a great person to play Peter's mother, someone with the power to stand up to Walter and the electricity to engender Peter.

Oh yes, I definately agree, she would be a great choice, the other person that springs to mind is Angelica Hudson, she plays the b*tch sooo well.
I definately think there is a twisted story surrounded his mother, it's Fringe, it won't be straight forward. I was also leaning towards Nina, but as tv-maniac says, he talks as if he remembers her, so surely it can't be Nina? Are we certain that she is even alive? Has there been any mention of her in the present time?

Perhaps Peter's biological mother is Nina and the mother he knew growing up was not his real mother. Maybe the two Peters are actually two different people with the same name, with the same father. The Peter who died was Nina's and Walter's son from an alternate universe (Nina and Walter travelled back and forth). Or . . . the Peter we know is Nina's and Walter's son from an alternate universe.
Must re-watch season 1!

I'm pretty sure both Peters were from the same pairs of parents in each Universe. Otherwise the switch would not have fooled child or mother. And Peter does remember his mother--he lived with her at least until after Walter was institutionalized: "she couldn't keep up the mortgage and we moved to an apartment in Alston". (The Ghost Network).
And Angelica Houston? She's a good actress, but I don't think Peter's mother is a bi$$$, he wouldn't be protective about her when Walter disses her. That's the thing Walter says that really pisses him off.

Okay, so we now know she speaks Greek. Is it because she's Greek, or because she's a genius too and can speak many languages?

Either one could work. I really want to know more about her, and who she is.
