im re watching the episode, and i noticed the lady at the begining is standing on track 4 and gets hit by train 7, now when they ae in Nicks apt later. The 47 comes up a few times. its on his wall atleast twice possibly 4 times i need to watch that far again.

Not exactly -- as Fringeling pointed out 47 is a reoccuring number in all of J.J. Abrams works.

I'm sorry -- I was actually wrong, it wasn't Abrams stuff, it was referring to Star Trek and other shows/works.

Check it out ----- in Ability when Olivia shows Peter her "card counting gift", the first card she guesses is the 4 of clubs.

The card on top of Nick Lane's card deck on his dresser was the 7 of clubs.

So is this linking merely Nick and Olivia ----- or Peter as well?

I'm wondering if it's not so much the number 47, as it is the numbers 4 and the numbers 7. The 4th and 7th dimensions maybe? That's a grasp at straws more than anything else really .... :confused0006:

In Alias, 47 is a number often used by Rambaldi, the 15h century's Prophet.

So, you can find 47 everywhere : page 47, room 47, a secret code is 4747, you need 47 devices to build up "Il dire", and it goes on and on...

In Fringe, if my memory's not too bad, in the pilot, there are 147 persons on the Flight 627, and further in the episode :

"[]Broyles reveals the incident on Flight 627 is part of a series of paranormal events being labelled as The Pattern; 36 recorded incidents of a paranormal nature had occurred in the previous nine months. He gives examples: 47 children who disappeared in 1998"

As a fan of Alias, I'm really used to look after 47, and I've seen it a lot of time in Fringe, especially the last ones.

I think it's part of a private joke between Abrams and the fans, it does not have effects on the story, but it adds something to look for.

Oh Man, are ya'll serious? I wonder if the writers ever wonder about neuroses that susceptible viewers could manifest once they start focusing on 'coincidences'. I know the theories section makes me dizzy sometimes. :haha:
