Recently, I've been downloading the Seasons and watching them like mad. I'm at Season 4 currently, and I've gotta say, it's a really great Teen Drama. Not to mention, it has loads and loads of Joshua Jackson!:P
Well, I'm loving it... Does anyone else watch/used to watch it?

I used to watch it when I was like 9, and didnt know what was actually happening. But recently I've been going in YouTube and searching tons of Joshua Jackson stuff, and a lot of the times Dawson's Creek pops up. So not sure if that actually qualifies as watching per say but close enough I guess! Haha.

I'm not ashamed to admit Dawson's Creek was my guilty pleasure on a Sunday afternoon on C4.

OMG OliviaIsMyHero, you started a DC thread!
I was interested in "Fringe" but didn't really start paying attention until the Holiday hiatus in December. I caught up on all the episodes, then decided to check out Dawson's Creek on Youtube.
It's like crack! :haha: I vaguely remember the first season back when it aired, but you're right, there's loads and loads of a Very Young Joshua Jackson. I started watching Season 3 in earnest and followed Seasons 3, 4, a little of 5, and Season 6. I had to wean myself off of it, it was addictive teenage angst. What a love triangle.
Katie Holmes' Joey was mesmerizing, and worthy of all the heartache both guys went through.

Glad I'm not the only one addicted!
No kidding.. The love triangle was (Is for me, because I'm only on Season 4!) crazy! But it is utterly addictive.
I had watched the first season before Fringe, and when Fringe came I was so happy because Pacey was already my favourite character!:P

I found this on Page Four of the tv show thread, and I'd bet Joshua Jackson hates these posts, but this is one of my favorite episodes that's not all high drama, and not especially high romance, :haha:. Sorry about the fuzzy quality, CharleesAngel was great about posting a lot of Pacey scenes. This one's called, The Northern Lights, sorry, Josh,

Season 3 was a really good season. I have to qualify I only saw Youtube clips of Dawson's Creek this past winter. I spent the entire Christmas holidays watching them and had a blast. When I revisited them last week I saw a new YouTube poster who's been doing them since around March.
I watched sporadically when the show was on originally, I stopped watching at the end of season 3, but not for any fault of the show. I think I just got into something else. Ironically when I watched it I liked Dawson better than Pacey. I think I just started watching more of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel on the WB at the time.
Thanks for the reference! :o

I was never a Dawson fan .
Although I did enjoy his recent cameo in One Tree Hill (not as good as DC) but I need my teenage angst :haha:

So, see, you've given yourself a shocked emoticon.
How could you need teenage angst, but was never a Dawson fan? Wait. Do you mean you weren't a fan of Dawson Leery? 'Cause if that were the case, apparently you had a lot of company.
It's startling to look up a Dawson's Creek YouTube video, then look over to see the comments. Some fans are positively rude about James Van Der Beek.
At least during the third season, it was the most delicious of all teenage triangles. I didn't think you Had to choose liking one over the other, I just like the way Dawson and Pacey were a study in contrasts.
And I was never a One Tree Hill fan. But, in fairness, I'm waaayyyyyyy too old to be espousing the virtues of either show. Also, in fairness, you get to a time in life when those teenage ups and downs acquire a golden patina, rather than the Heaven or Hell constant roller coaster adolescence could be.
I hope James Van Der Beek can get onto one of those 90210 shows, there's plenty of them around. Could you see him in Gossip Girl, as one of the preparatory teachers? I could. And it's a paycheck.....

Dawson Leary was just a little to clean living for me, I just didn't like his character.
Although Josuha Jackson was a little chubby in his DC days the character Pacey was just so cool I also liked Jen and Gramps.
I've not seen Gossip girl so I can't comment but James Van Der Beek is to good an actor to not be working regularly, he played so against type in OTH so hopefully that will open some doors for him.

I hope you're right about Van Der Beek. I actually liked the Dawson Leery character a lot. I don't think it's that easy to play the high-minded, noble friend.
Yeah, Joshua Jackson has lost an amazing amount of weight, but I'm not sure if he outgrew a (slightly) phase, if he slimmed down at Fox's instruction, or if he slimmed down at Diane Kruger's instruction. :haha: At any rate, it looks great on him, I hope he's able to keep down to that weight. It was always killer when I went down to the 'slimmer' end of my weight. :o

*blows the dust off the "Dawson's Creek" thread* from the website archive,
Now I'm doing some YouTube surfing, and I found a fan vid with a collection of Looks between Pacey and Joey. I know Josh Jackson doesn't look or act this way now, but the shots are evocative of the scenes they're from. Katie Holmes was mesmerizing. Although the shot of her on the Youtube Embedded clip doesn't demonstrate that, LOL!
The quality doesn't approach what the graphic artists here can do, but the song quality is pretty good in headphones.

Wow, that's weird. I guess you have to wait a certain amount of time before you post back to back YouTube clips? Back to the drawing board.
Okay, right now I am watching Sex and Violence, a season 6 episode, and this made me laugh. Pacey is talking on the phone and this is what he says
"I hear what you are saying, Walter, I don't want to push it that hard, I just don't have the numbers okay?" :haha:
its like he is talking to our Walter Bishop. :haha: I swear, I am having a Dawson's creek/Fringe crossover video idea! it helps too that Peter and Pacey are played by the same actor. In fact, if Peter had an alternate, Pacey would be his alternate!

I'm currently on the first couple of episods of season 4.
Here are my thoughts so far:
This show is pretty funny...in the ridiculous 90s teen drama sort of way :P
Some storylines are too typical even for this show (like watching TNBC). I liked season 1 though, it's pretty funny how completely out of touch with reality our Dawson is when he is trying to go after Jen. :haha:
Season 2 is my favorite season I think, great storylines and characterizations. I fell in love with Pacey/Andie. One of the most adorably written couples on the show...
Season 3...bleh. Everything turned into a train wreck. Not that I wasnt bothered by Dawson/Joey breaking up but damn I HATED what they did to Pacey/Andie. I pretty much HATED what the writers did to Andie this entire season especially how wonderful and realistic she was in season 2. Everything she does in season 3 is totall unrealistic.
And I dont get what's with Joey being all weird around Dawson. I guess she like Dawson has this fantasy idea about how everyone should be. Clearly the writing was set up all season to lead up to the big Joey/Pacey hookup...which seemed intriguing when I watched the youtube clips but seeing all the other stories around it, I'm not a big fan of it like I was of Pacey/Andie. I really kinda hate Joey for her own stupidity to not realize that Dawson is being a selfish jerk and she should've stood up to him instead of waiting for him to free her to Pacey.
The only good thing about season 3 I particulary enjoy was the story of Jen/Hank. But then they got together and every episode was this couple having one problem after another and now as I'm watching season 4 it looks like they're breaking up (notably I'm guessing the actor who plays Hank is not on the show anymore). This pisses me off as a viewer...after setting up this wonderful love story about an underdog freshman who tries to win the heart of a tough-closed off girl...in every single way possible...he dumps her in a fashion near similar to what happened with Pacey/Andie.
With all of these thoughts in mind...
I HATE DAWSON'S CREEK WRITERS!!!! They think we're idiots who dont recall how they wrote a certain character or pairing a week prior. And then they do a complete turnaround as a quick way to break and make couples. I think they this heavily in season 3 and damn did it ever get annoying.
But then this is typical of teen dramas. Yes very few teen couples are long lasting but come on give the audience a little credit.
^I agree with this.
To me, it seems, the writers don't respect the characters very much. For example, I don't believe that Andie would ever have cheated on Pacey. He did so much for her, stood by her, and she did so much for him. But it's like, bang, two episodes in and they've broken up for some stupid, "writers-couldn't-think-of-anything-else" reason. And, like you say, the Jen/Henry thing is another example of that. Those two were so perfect in the previous season, but... they just ended them for no real reason.
Grr! It makes me mad
Anyway, I watched up to the end of season four, and have no desire to watch anymore because I got too angry at the writers. And it didn't help that I was never a big fan of Dawson. He was just a sap! And what was with him and the weird blonde woman who looked kinda like one of the demons in Supernatural?? Also, his head and forehead are disproportionally large.
I feel like I should say some good stuff about the show...
I loved Pacey/Andie while it lasted. Pacey/Joey was okay too. I also loved the Jen/Jack dynamic!
Any story featuring Pacey's family/dad was always quite good too, and would often make me cry :(
Yeah.
But I do think that someone needs to punch those writers in the face.

Before season 3 ended, I thought that the Jen/Henry story would end with Henry getting hit by a truck and killed or something like right after he finally wins over Jen. That would've made a much more awesome ending for this couple instead of another typical dumping that's unrealistic even for them.
updated Season 4 thoughts: Joey is getting seriously annoying. Why does she need to get pissed at Dawson for hooking up with Pacey's sister? You're not together. Get the &*$& over yourself!
Expect a lot of 'Joey-getting-annoyed-over-stupid-Dawson-related-reason'
It's really irksome.

I was shocked about that, too. But it was a weird moment in Andie's life. She had a lot of problems, and we must take into consideration that.
Andie was my favorite character of the show by the way.:P
Too bad Meredith Monroe hasn't done a lot of things since that show.

I am a huuuge Dawson's Creek fan as well...I loved every single episode and I looooved Pacey-Joey...I hated the fact that Joey was so glued to Dawson even though Pacey had done so much for her...But she chose well at the end...I don't think that they ruined anything ...Andie was all messed up and it was natural that she wanted some kind of comfort and someone that went through what she got through, someone who understood her..her relationship with Pace was really great but it had got to end...
My favorite episodes are "the longest day" and "castaways"...
My all time favorite Pacey scene is in the beauty contest where he perfoms a scene from Braveheart:)...He was so awsome there...
Firstly,I don't think Joshua was chubby in DC...I think the clothes of that time were big and he looked like he was a little fatter...When he is with T-shirts he is thin...
Secondly,Joshua doesn't feel ashamed of his role as Pacey...He was just tired of people asking him about DC,Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise and not about his job...And he showed that by doing the Pacey-con,which was AWSOME!!!He was so funny(as always)...
That's about it I think...
(Oh,I forgot...I believe the funniest Pacey scene was in "Detention" when he mentions the Mighty Ducks trilogy...Hillarious!)...

I stopped watching once it became clear that it was no longer 'Dawson's Creek' but instead 'The Pacey/Joey Power Hour."
I must be one of the few people who liked Dawson. He was pretty noble and upstanding. Sure he had his selfish moments, but so did every character. The thing is, when Pacey or Joey was selfish the fans ate it up and never called them on it the way they did on Dawson.
Dawson was a good guy. It's just too bad his so-called friends kept constantly screwing him over.
Example: Pacey totally broke the Bro Code. 'Nuff said
Example 2: I remember every time Dawson was happy with his life people would give him crap for it. He decides to do as asked and give Joey her space for now? She and his best friend are sneaking around behind his back. He meets a girl? Cue Joey jealousy. She didn't want to be with him, but she doesn't want him happy either.
Another example: Remember how Joey chased Dawson for a year, they finally got together, then Joey dumped him because she wanted to "find herself" without the need for a man? The next thing you know she's dating Jack. WTF?
Joey was the most annoying character on that show. I remember her mouthing off to a mugger/rapist and I just wanted to tell her to shut her mouth before she gets killed.
I never saw much of season 6. Did Pacey and/or Joey screw Dawson over that season too?

The truth is that, although I was a huge Joey/Pacey fan,I kinda felt sorry for Dawson!Yeah,of course Pacey broke the bro code, yes both Pacey and Joey were selfish, they all were! The thing is that Dawson was taking Joey for granted...He always did!Noone likes that!Dawson thought that whenever he wanted he could have Joey, and that was just wrong!I remember in the first season Pacey had asked Dawson for his permission to make a move on Joey although there was nothing goin on between them yet!And Dawson said it was ok but then he wasn't!Joey was pretty obvious that she wanted Dawson but he couldn't see it,but as soon as someone else wanted her Dawson wasn't willing to give her up!Anyway the thing is that Joey was happier with Pacey!!
In season 6 Jo and Pace had a little thing going on again then they broke up and at the series finale they ended up together:)

The only aspect of Pacey that I found particularly interesting was his family. I remember his father being a real piece of work.
