Hi! I made some "pixel art" versions of the Fringe glyphs. I made a banner out of one, and that's all I've uploaded so far...so I'll show you that first then add on.

They took a heck of a lot of time...click by click :amazed: But that's okay! I think they turned out alright. I'd like to hear what you think. :)

(if you look really, reeeely close, you can see the Phi symbol on the frog's back when it's not yellow.)

The yellow's a bit hard to see on F-F's greyish background...but it looks good on a white or black background.

But I took a detour from the glyphs and decided to make Gene the cow, slurping on some Lo Mein. It was inspired by the scene with Astrid, Gene and Walter eating Chinese in front of the TV. :ohyeah:

Oh, very nice! One request---if you're going to use text, try to make it big enough to read...the 'she is love' one the smaller lines just fuzz out into blur. Or did you intend that?

^ Those two are the same because neither one's colors turned out quite right--I desperately need another monitor calibration, for one, and Photoshop makes yellows all orangey and wonky. In the second one, the blue is too green. I'm sure I could fix it and take some more time, but I honestly can't be bothered :haha:

I tried so hard not to make it look like those portraits! I considered putting a big, thick line between their faces, but it looked bad, so I scrapped the idea. But I failed in trying to make it look emotional rather than creepy, IMO :haha:

It's beautiful; I love the concept of snapshots together to make a whole, and your color choices are very nice.

-----but; while I am a fan of 'implied meaning', the smaller and smaller the texts get on these banners and wallpapers, the less I get why one would make the text so small as to be unreadable.

Why use text at all, and not some graphic ornament that is not text? Or a calligraphic font in another language, if hidden/secret meaning is what you are after? As text is meant to carry meaning, it gets quite frustrating to me to have lots of text but totally unreadable. Are you intending it to be unreadable (for layout purposes maybe)--or is it readable for you in the original, and just not as reproduced here---??

The text wasn't intended to be read. It's just there because I thought the script added a nice touch to the wallpaper, despite being unreadable. It's something I like to do in my art sometimes; you could call it part of my style. So I'm sorry it's frustrating, but it doesn't say anything interesting. No implied meanings, just what's there. :)

I think the colors in mine are a bit darker and more neutral...but I wouldn't be surprised if we used the same technique. Great minds do think alike.

The colors do say fresh, don't they? It also reminds me of the intro graphics to the tv program "Dallas" which is I think from before your time, but it had similar slices and if memory serves, sort of moving/vertical blinds kind of effect. Still eye-catching today.

I wasn't in a great mood today, and I figured, "Why not make some art to make myself feel better?" So I did. Well, it's not a great idea to make art when you're in a bad mood, because this banner is probably one of the worst I've done in my time at F-F.

I don't think I did a great job with the hair color change; you can still see bits of blonde. And the colors, to me, are very clowny, too bright and colorful for the seriousness I tried to achieve.

Nonya business. :P I made it feathery and glowy, then blurred one side of the text. But if you had to ask, I guess that means it wasn't really noticeable :what:

Perfect!
This is exactly the feeling those two gave to that scene, even though he was saying one more investigation and he was gone. It looked like he was reassuring her.
..and I enjoyed how they both played it as though they were already very much involved, the way she moved with his movement. . .

I love the Charlie one, very nicely done. The animation scared the crap out of me at first on WYB until I noticed what was going on. It just kept getting different somehow and I couldn't figure out how... my brain caught up :haha:
