Ok I can't understand why so hate towards Jessup.

1. Most users have said that they didn't like her before they actually saw the 1st episode of second season. How is that even possible?

2.Some users say that they don't like her bacause they want Astrid to have more screen time. Why is that her fault?

3. Some can't understand that all tv-series introduce new characters. Look Lost for example. It's good to have new characters.
Did you expect to stick with only the same characters forever?

1. Most users have said that they didn't like her before they actually saw the 1st episode of second season. How is that even possible?:confused:I think the major issue before the episode was the threat Jessup posed to
the P/O shippers, that she will sway Peter to the dark side.

(By the way, I'm against a Peter/Olivia relationship. I like the dysfunctional family dynamic that they have going on. Even Anna Torv has stated her opposition to this.)

2.Some users say that they don't like her because they want Astrid to have more screen time. Why is that her fault?:confused:I think a lot of people have a hard time thinking in the long-term. Knowing the writers, Astrid will most surely get developed, especially now that the writers are sure of what they are doing.

Think of it this way: Astrid's alternate is in Olivia's place in the Other Fringe Division :P

3. Some can't understand that all tv-series introduce new characters. Look Lost for example. It's good to have new characters.I agree. Agent Jessup's religious background is sure to bring interesting new insight into the themes presented in Fringe. She has only been here for one episode, and already she has a mysterious background that I, the viewer, am interested in learning more.

Give her time, folks.

There are some many double entendres that could be drawn from that statement.

While I'm not a devout P/O shipper, I also disliked her. I'm not entirely sure why. I think it's more that I like things the way they are. The dynamic that Olivia, Peter, Walter and Astrid have. They've been through a great deal together, and, like Torv and Jackson say, have become a family of sorts, bonded by the awful things they've seen and the progression of time. But Amy Jessup just comes up and... I dunno. To me, it seemed like she took Olivia's place, if only for that episode. I don't like that. New characters are fine, but I think she'll probably join Fringe Division, and that will change things. I'm not a fan of change. -_-;;

I'm a mild P/O shipper and I did not like Jessup at first, but after seeing her come to Olivia's rescue, I've warmed to her. I didn't like her originally, not because she was a threat to P/O but because she was Charlie's replacement. And I liked Charlie! :haha:

The Astrid side of things, I think Astrid fans were angry because she was an original character and then the writers brought a new girl in and stole all the screen time! :D It's not Jessup's fault of course, but I think it annoyed a majority.

And I agree Jay, her religious side will bring an interesting new dynamic to the show.

A good thread Montecito!

I didn't mind her at all! For now, she seems like just a recurring character anyway. I think her Bible comparisons will bring some interesting things to the table.
And as for the P/O thing....well I'm hardly a shipper anyway, so. But I'm not really seeing any chemistry between Jessup and Peter at this point, so (if I were a shipper) I wouldn't be too worried.

Let's keep it clean, shall we?
