what's with the fly that is following Olivia?

It's to demonstrate Olivia's new hearing ability.

I think it is to show us that with her super sensitive hearing she is being bothered by noises that most of us can tune out. Most of the time we are only bothered by buzzing flies in the quiet of the night, and nearby.

She can be struggling with tuning them out, like when she was bathing, the bursting soap bubbles and the arguing couple next door (or down the hall) abruptly stopped.

I wonder why the sounds abruptly start. Perhaps when she's concentrating, in general? But, yes, I think this directly related to the superhearing thread.
