From EW (http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/11/11/this-just-in-dollhouse-axed/):

This has been a busy week for cancellations. The latest addition to the TV graveyard: Dollhouse.
According to multiple insiders, Fox has informed Joss Whedon that it will not be ordering additional installments of his low-rated drama beyond the current 13-episode order. On the bright side, the network still plans to burn off the remaining unaired episodes beginning in December. Hey, it’s something.
Dollhouse has been averaging a mere 3 million viewers this season. Last season — when fan support, together with significant budget cuts, helped it to get an odds-defying second-year pickup — the show averaged 4.7 million.
Bottom line: Dollhouse is lucky it ever saw a second season. Remember that when you’re posting your eulogies below.

Dollhouse's cancellation isn't something that surprises me. The show has an interesting premise, but because of that premise it really isn't character-driven, thus viewers can't really be involved. I enjoyed the show in the first season, but I always felt dissatisfied. Hopefully something better will take its place (not FRINGE!)

I'm a little surprised, but not too much. I thought Dollhouse was doing well, especially after that Sierra-based episode that I really enjoyed. I wonder what will take its place...

That really sucks for fans of the show.
I have to say, though, I'm with Fringified. I watched one episode and although the premise was really interesting....it wasn't for me.

I agree, I can't say I'm surprised. More surprising was that they got a second season. That said, said to see the show go, if only for the opportunity missed and the interesting discussions had.

It was a show with a lot of potential, I will say that, and I definitely enjoy watching it, but I'm not surprised that it was canceled.

I am not surprised but I am disappointed. It was a good show and I think it would have done better if it would have not had the Friday night kiss of death.
