CLUES AND EASTEREGGS
"UNEARTHED"
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd357/Fringe-Forum/fringeclues.jpg

Welcome to the clues and eastereggs thread for 1.21 Unearthed!
This is a bit like an treasure hunt for the various clues that are intentionally built into each and every episode of Fringe.

The clues are mostly visual and provide fun hints or, sometimes, major pieces to the broader puzzle. ;)

If you'd like to play along, please do so by sharing your observations in this thread!

Here are some ideas on what to look out for:

The Observer - usually hidden somewhere in the background of EACH episode.
The blue lights
The "Next Episode Clue" - each episode contains clues alluding to the nature of the following weeks episode.
Any other clues, shout-outs, allusions etc.

As per our rules (http://fringe-forum.com/forums/announcement.php?f=101&a=20), please do not post screencaps or photos containing watermarks of other 'fansites'. Fox or network watermarks are of course fine. If you require a screenshot of a specific scene, please ask in this thread (or here (http://fringe-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=787)) and someone might be able to help you. Or, post your own ad-free screencaps, if you know how to capture them.

*From time to time you may see the "FringeBloggers" watermark on screencaps posted on this site - that's allowed here because they are our sister site. We are them and they are us.

*If you want to check out last seasons clues and eastereggs, have a look through our clues library (http://fringe-forum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=101) or the various episode forums.

*Please note. If you know for a fact what the next episode clue is because you've seen the trailer for the next episode or because you have knowledge of upcoming info, you MUST use spoiler tags (for text) as not everyone watches the trailers. This thread is for speculation and the fun of the hunt.
See what you can unearth! :detective:
(please don't post in this particular thread until the episode begins (earliest US airing), so that we can keep everything relevant - thanks!)

That observer was so easy! The first time I saw him live. How could you miss it when he was so close to Olivia?

Looks like two chances to find the observer.

Thanks!

A symbol of an organisation "cult" perhaps?

Or just pirates:D?

No, it's a next episode clue for Season 2 episode 1.

It refers to the ability of shapeshifter to remodel itself.

Wait ... I'm confused.

(1) What does a pirate have to do with a shapeshifter changing its form?

(2) The next episode clue for 2.01 wouldn't be in this episode, since this would never have been the S1 finale.

That's just your hypothesis. Noone said that for sure.

fringe pedia can't know for sure what this symbol stands for and if it has to do with shapesifters.

2) Apparently, this is an unaired episode from e1. Assuming that the hypothesis is correct, I'm guessing they added the flag in post production to further emphasize that this episode is from e1. (As if Charlie's appearance wasn't enough...)
