In part one of the two-part, two-night second season finale, Walter and Olivia travel to the parallel universe, and the anticipated face-off between Walter Bishop and William Bell occurs when special guest star Leonard Nimoy returns in the all-new "Over There, Part 1" episode of FRINGE airing Thursday, May 13 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. well i got to say i enjoyed the ep..
i have seen it useing the dark side of the web... i got to start off by saying wow... it was not what i was thinking it would be... i got to say alt olivia with the dark hair and the lether.... looked hot... anyways... cant say more with out spolers.

i thought the artwork in the alterverse was very similar to the paintings and pictures we've been seeing over here in the last few episodes (namely the NW passage motel and broyles' offices).

Olivia's memories of the alternate universe are often completely red, for example in 204 Momentum Deferred.

Can't forget the über-cool anesthesia system. Either that or it's a sleep-monitoring device.
The reunion scenes were also quite moving. It just made me realize that part of the reason why Peter's so mad is perhaps he now blames himself (and Walter) for his other mother's death.

edit: You can make a killer living by transferring coffee over there :P But... if they're so advanced, where's the artificial coffee-flavored drink?

Peter's going to die over there without regular treatments for his coffee addiction. Lucky thing his dad is so powerful. I'm guessing it's like what others have speculated, The Blight is killing the crops.

He just needs a bigger addiction. Maybe some of what Charliea using to surpress those pesky worms (yes, worms lol).

I really Loved this epsiode!

It was nice to see Nick Lane! -I am kind of sad if he is a goner though, but appearnetly alterNick still exists as Agent Lee recognized Nick.

The opening sequence was done in RED and although I am sure this alludes to war, I also think it may parallel materials from Abrams other works, such as RED MATTER from Star Trek which was used to create an artificial black hole. And then there were Rambaldi's devises that also consisted of red balls -biohazardious chemicals/immortality and I think there is something simular in Mission Impossable 3 (the rabbit's foot).

So maybe something with time travel or chemical warfare is on the horizen?

It also seems like Alter Astrid has some 'abilities'. That she is works as fast and can key word like a modern computer (she is "echelon" LOL)

And what about this new Agent Lee character? -He seems interesting.

and nice to see Charlie Frances too, even if it isn't the exact same Charlie we know.

I think my favorite part was when Alter-Olivia said that she couldnt stand the taste of alcohol. :haha::haha: I laughed so hard and it made the throbbing headache I had worse.:P But I couldnt help it.

I loved that too. I liked that the writers addressed our Olivia's drinking. :)

I think it's a tad weird the alternate Olivia has different hair, when everyone else looks the same. Especially slightly orange and with a fringe. Am I reading too much into this?

Everyone else doesn't look the same. Alter-Charlie has a scar and a shaved head. Astrid is apparently military and wears a beret. Broyles is the same from what I saw. Alter Walter has a different hairstyle...

I don't mean clothing. I mean haircolour. The only other one who seems to have different hair is Walternate, and that's because Walter has somewhat dishevelled hair. Olivia doesn't seem to be the type of person who dyes her hair, nor does Alternate Olivia. Well, as I said it could be nothing, but I was intrigued. Though Charlie having a scar is a pretty good point, although he IS an agent, so he could have been hurt in a mission/mistake he did in that universe.

I think things like fashion are very volatile - here today gone tomorrow - so maybe alter-Olivia's hair color doesn't really say much. What I did notice is how Olivia and alter-Olivia are both "hippies" at heart. Alter-Olivia is an out and out retro and our Olivia is a mega-depressed former flower-power girl. Same Olivias deep down.

I disagree a little in that. I think they are completely different. From what I have seen until now ofcourse..

He learned how to control his healing ability. He can heal himself to keep the cancer from killing him. After using his power to cross over to the Red Universe, though, he had no energy left to heal himself, so the cancer took over. That's my theory.
