I always thought that Nina Sharp's character and involvement in the meta plot was the most intriguing one.

Her closeness to peter..why is it there? In the episode "PETER", she tells Walter that he shouldn't cross over to the other side and then she says that, "You know how much Peter meant to me". Why? Why would she say that? What makes her so close to Peter?

Now, I have a theory for this......Remember the episode where Nina Sharp makes a deal with Peter and helps him with the address of a research facility in exchange for one day Peter returning the favor? She said, "Your father and I were very close". Then in the second season, in the episode "Olivia in the Lab with a Revolver", she told Olivia, "I know that working together closely with someone can bring about feelings". Now keep in mind these two statements and then think about the fact that in two different episodes, each from season 1 and 2, we have seen the concept of surrogate mothers being used in some form or the other.

Now, considering these above mentioned points, I believe that there is a possibility that Nina Sharp is the surrogate mother of Peter Bishop.....with Walter Bishop's semen being used for reproduction....Peter was probably part of an experiment which was conducted...I have seen multiple occassions in which Nina Sharp gets really worried about Peter...

Another thing I thought about Nina Sharp is...that in the season finale, when Olivia, Nick Lane, his gf, and Walter Bishop were waiting for William Bell.....then how come the police traced them there??? They initially thought it was Bell who tipped them off but Bell later said it wasn't him.....Nina Sharp knew about their meeting with Bell....so could she have tipped the police off???? Could she be the master mind behind all the destruction, the pattern???

I know the two theories I have presented is contradicting each other in some way....as the possibility of Nina Sharp being Peter's mother and then being the one to tip the police off is not going well together but I am just presenting them as two different theories, one of which could be correct or may be both of them could be correct with some idea to connect both of it.

What do you guys think???

I believe Bell also said that Walternate had access to all communications networks and he sort of implied that's how they found them.

Nina intrigues me too. I had hoped there was more development of her character in the season finale. Perhaps she had a relationship with Walter or is Peter's aunt/godmother or something.

Nina, William and Walter were obviously close. I don't buy that nina is a surrogate mother or god mother or any of that. If all 3 were close, then they were close to walter's family as well. Nina probably watched Peter grow up. I'd like to think of her as the cool pseudo-aunt before walter got locked up.

I've had similar thoughts for some time now. Mine were a little more streamlined. I've believed since the 1st season that Nina was in fact Peter's mother. Obviously, recent revelations have revealed that not to be the case. However, your theory is entirely plausible and may well be the truth when the closing bell sounds on the series.

Another possibility might be that Walter told his wife they were using her as a surrogate, but just plain got Nina pregnant. This is not the most likely, but anything is possible on this show.

And for the record, I don't believe Nina Sharp is behind anything other than Massive Dynamic. Sure, she was a puppet for Bell who kept much from the Fringe team, but I definitely believe she is a force for good. I feel the same way about - at the very least- OUR William Bell.

The jury is still out on the truth regarding Alt-Bell.

From Nina's point of view, as a character that we see much more often then Peter's 'Mother/s', it would perhaps make more sense to have her be the Genetic doner for Peter and thus technically his Biological mother (While Suicide Mom was the surrogate for origonal Peter). Biological mother would have a distant kind of love, while the literal (Suicide) mother was the typical smothering mothering figure.

I think the Intro for episode Peter, with all it's retro 80's science, had a few big clues. I recall 'In-Vitro-Fertilisation' and 'Genetic Engineering'.

Walter, back then, was dealing in sciences relating to almost, if not all, these intro sciences (Stealth technology such as we saw in Johari Window). I think we can take it for granted that Walter has indulged in Genetic Engineering and In-vitro... but with who? The most obvious answer would be Peter/Peters... with the possibility of other characters having also been his creation or design through similiar means.
Just some thoughts
