I didn't see anything about this in here...and although we may not have much info to go on I just had to say:
So...John Scott is not dead?
Thoughts?
Is he really alive? If so then how?
Was she imagining it? Going coo-coo for cocoa puffs?
Is he a clone? What could be the prupose of that? :detective:

I think he's in Olivia's head or subconscious or mind. Remember she connected with him when he was in a comma. Maybe he's dead but he's figured out to contact here in here mind. This is assuming he's just extending the line of telepathic communication that she already opened?
Just a theory.

I like that theory. Perhaps MD has found a way not only to get info out of a dead person's brain (within 6 hours of their death) but maybe if they start the process within 6 hours they can keep it going as long as they like.
I prefer this theory to him being alive because nothing was mentioned about bringing people back to life.
I'm still open to a clone theory...since I seem to be all about the clones with this show.

Great point!

Great response as well. As long as the process has been initiated, whose says that you can't continue to tap into it afterwards over time? John was seen being held in some sort of stasis pod when they still extracting data from him.

I thought it was funny that she was having a bowl of cereal and whiskey for dinner! It had to be the Jack Daniels!
Anyway. Theyve been hinting at this, I get it. MassiveDynamics probably found a way to ressurect him under their control...for what purpose though? We will have to wait and see but given the Nina and Broyles conversation in episode 3...my biggest theory is that theyre using zombie John to lure Olivia right into MD's power.

reanimation is metioned in the opening scene in every episode...i think bringing people back from the dead is somthing MD would definatly be working on.
as for this instance it seems olivia is seeing it in her haed for now. since the phone call she got never really happened according to the woman she called right after

Ahhh, not so fast my friend. Consider this: did you notice how John's (or whatever it was) voice sounded modulated and tinnie, like he was talking through a can or perhaps even a sound generated modulation device. Someone has the technology (MD) to tap into Olivias's phone signal, activate it and speak on it to her, all withought leaving a trace signature of their calling signal. ;)

I think that he is reanimated, they were putting information in to his dead body (which would be alive now) at the end of episode 3.
Orrrr they were extracting it from his brain to put in his clone.. Just one of my theories, I have loads of others. :P

I'm a tool...I totally forgot about reanimation being mentioned.
But I agree with everyone...so far, I think he's in her head, not really walking around with the living (yet). And given the subject matter of the show, I doubt it's because of her...I think he's being "placed" in her head by MD. Reason unknown.

the telepahtic link still being open and her kind freaking out and seeing this is a great point. i am a firm beleiver in the clone theory though... reanimation is also high on my probability list but fear of the inevitable zombie apocolpyse makes me ignore it. lol, im such a zombie dork!

I like to think that they have a John clone and they just downloaded data from dead John into the clone. That would be a new way of thinking about reanimation. They could load up the old data and anything else they want.
erm..how about this..brain waves work, basically on electronic pulse type things.if zombie john was being held in some kind of coma, his brain waves would still be able to function kinda. going with that idea, he could - in theory - use anything electronic to contact anyone (ie a cell phone).
but who is to say it was john...could be someone else, we dont really know anything about olivias past..parents/brothers/sisters..the only thing we do know is she had an unkle that had a kyac..and thats about it really.
all i heard from the cell phone talk was someone saying her name and then static again..mixed with what sounded like a modem...has anyone tryed to play that sequence back at a slower and higher frequency...as frequency seemed to play quiet a major role in that episode.
though i could have missed the point totally!

Are people already forgetting the tombstone that says, IIRC, "He's not dead." Just hold onto this fact for the time being.

I think that he's been reanimated and telepathically communicating with Olivia, the tech has been fished out to be valid, at least in the show that is.:yeah:
if i was olivia id give up on old zombie agent scott...dont think its legal to have a relationship with a dead man than isnt really dead...

I believe he's alive. I'm not sure if Massive Dynamic reanimated him or if they simply created a clone. However, if you remember the scene when Nina walks into the room to see how the process is coming along, and they show John in that incubator thing, it struck me as very odd that his body was in perfect condition. He definitely didn't look that way right after the crash that killed him.

Hi. This is my first post so here goes: My theory is that MD found out that Olivia and John had connected telepathically in the first episode and since it was so fresh after John died that perhaps they saw this as an opportunity to keep better tabs on Olivia as she investigated the pattern. I guess what I'm trying to say is that maybe MD has John Scott in that incubator to tap into his psychic link with Olivia, thereby being able to "spy" on Olivia from the inside. The visions of John and/or the phone call may have been John's subconscious trying to reach out to her and maybe make her aware of the "mind bug" that MD has in her head.
I'm not very good with this kind of stuff, but hopefully it made a micron of sense.
