I don't know about the rest of you, but I like word games. This is a version of a game I play on road trips. The rules are simple:
You begin with a word, vulture, for instance. The next poster must list a word that begins with the same two first letters (vulgar, vulnerable, etc.). If a poster cannot think of a word that begins with those two letters , he must post a word with the same first letter, e.g. volcano, and all subsequent posters will have to match the first two letters of his word (vortex, volume...). If you want to begin a word with a new letter, simply move to the next letter in the alphabet.
For added complexity, you can play it so that each new sub-group must be introduced in alphabetical order (from altitude to amount, from absinthe to accent), but in the interest of speed, I almost never play it that way. If you want to skip from barbiturate to boggle, you can.
No proper nouns or contractions and it's appreciated if you don't just add -ing, -er, or -ed to a word somebody has already posted. Other than that, the sky's the limit.
If you come up with a strange, obscure, or neat word, feel free to give the definition too. One of the best parts of playing this game is that you'll almost always learn something new.
I hope y'all find this interesting and join in! :tiphat:
