Jorge describes his scene

Jorge Garcia joined a podcast for an Autism charity yesterday, and we in the chat room asked him about his scene with Walter.

He said it was interesting to work with John Noble because he expected him to be like the Walter character-including the grandfather voice. (Jorge did a good Walter imitation) But he found that John doesn't sound like that at all.

He also described how they did the bong prop- with herbal cigarettes that they would inhale from off camera, per the production rules, and then roll film. John burned his fingers! And Jorge doesn't know how to roll joints- he does not smoke marijuana.

Anyway- it was fun to hear him talk about it- as a big Hurley fan I like to see him in other projects.

I love Hurley too and I was so glad to see him on fringe...I'm glad he enjoyed his scene,as we all did!

Surprised they didn't actually use the bong, as it would help to cool down and filter the "herb". On the other hand, maybe they've discovered that it leads to too great an inhalation, leading to all sorts of unpleasant side effects -- uncontrollable coughing, and maybe not enough visible smoke on the exhale for the purposes of filmmaking.

Same here I loved him as Hurley, I'd love him to have more appearances in the future but even if he doesn't every scene they film in MD I'll be thinking of him in his little office watching.

I don't believe that Jorge doesn't smoke Marijuana! He was a main character in the stoner-comedy, The Good Humor Man, and I've also seen him make a few cameo's in shows during scenes related to pot, like smoking the bong with Walter, and he played a pot dealer in Curb Your Enthusiasm.
