The only gripe that I have with this episode is the sudden severity of the situation without really showing much of it. Ok, so we see a bunch of sheep and stuff disappear, a huge swarm of locusts, and weird colored sky (I think other things were talked about in the episode, too), but I just didn't FEEL like there was this mad dash to find a way to stop the end of the world. I didn't FEEL like Peter had to make the last-ditch effort to save the world by hopping into the machine. Maybe if we could have seen more devastation rather than seen easy stuff to do on camera, I would feel differently. Maybe they went over budget with the animation in the last episode. haha

Or maybe their leaving the more expensive stuff until 3.22.

My only disappointment was that the machine didn't blow up in Walternate and Brandon's faces or that Fauxlivia didn't shoot Brandonate. That would be one killing I would like her for

The only thing that I was disappointed by was Peter not telling Olivia that he was planning on getting into the machine. I guess he is not fond of goodbyes either? And Astrid interrupting Peter when he was giving her a message for Olivia really annoyed me! I love Astro but sometimes she just has some crap timing!

I think Peter knew the moment that Olivia was leaving to Massive Dynamic what he was going to do. That's why he stopped her before she left and of course they exchanged that unspoken words look that so often happens in this show . If he had told her, no way would she have left and quite possibly, it would've been difficult for him to get into that machine in her presence.

One thing I disliked...precious minutes WASTED on teen couple making out in the truck. I mean, these are nobodies! A still shot of any of the cast would have been better.

Broyles did not seem as frantic compared to 6B...should he be more freaked out?

Besides the obvious - which is the episode not being long enough - the only bad thing was the fact that as soon as something happended, I thought "Oh, crap. We're not gonna see the end of this in this episode. And I'm gonna spend the whole week wondering. And then the next!! NOOO!!"

I really didn't like this episode . And I reeeeaaallllly wanted to like it badly.

There are so many negative things I could say about it, but I think I could sum it up in this: I just didn't believe in the "panic and fear" of everyone. I didn't buy Nina's panic and fear. I didn't buy Walters. I almost bought Peter's sacrificial nobility. I didn't buy Sam's whatever-Sam-was-feeling/thinking. I didn't buy Broyles fatherly concern. I didn't buy Walternates complicated choices. I sort of bought innocent Astrid's teary eyes. Olivia was kind of a gopher in the whole thing. The writing was horrible ..... Brandonate's behavior was silly

This was the first time I didn't like an episode of Fringe, where I am actually disappointed in my own negativity towards it lol But I just wasn't "feeling it" at all. It seemed like filler the whole time, when it wasn't really supposed to feel like filler.

I really feel like Olivia/Peter has lost it's spark for me. In this episode especially. They seemed really...detached from each other. Even with the scene where they look into each other's eyes like a cheesy romance film.

Especially when you compare it to all of season two and the beginning of season three. They had so much chemistry between them, and I truly love how Peter was Olivia's only source of sanity and sense of self left in the world. It was so brilliantly done but now their relationship seems to be rushed and just...wrong. Like it's forced to be there to appease the fanbase and it isn't very realistic at all.

Also the whole "dawn is my favorite time of day because the world is full of promise" ...What? I know she says it in the episode, but it doesn't strike me as something Olivia would ever say. Ever.

I feel like they've destroyed her character a bit, true she's in love and happy but at the same time that wouldn't be enough to warp her entire disposition. Olivia has always been the type to be lost in thought. And the fact that Peter's betryal doesn't seem to bother her anymore is just odd.

Especially considering the fact that John's betrayl affected her for nearly the entirety of season one, and is even mentioned a few times in season two. At least with John there was eventual closure, she actually had a reason for forgive him and there was a lovely scene for it, too. For her and Peter it's basically this:
    Olivia: HOW COULD YOU NOTTELL?
    Peter: LOL SORRY.
    Olivia: I DON'T FORGIVE YOU.
Peter: I WANT TO BE TOGETHER. ITS UR FAULT WE'RE NOT TOGETHER. IM SORRY. LETS JUST PRETEND IT NEVER HAPPENED.
Olivia: ...LOLOK. LETS GO HAVE SEX NAO.
    Peter: OK.

...Perhaps this rant is a little out of place. >_> Point being, these two lost their chemistry and it speaks volumes in the new episodes, this one especially. -sighhhh-

Despite the overall excellence of the episode, I still didn't like two things about it:

    1. I'd LOVE to see more: panic on the streets; president's messages about the situation which is "under control"; more government involvement and so on. Come on! The end of the world comes and there's no angry people, strikers and etc.? BUT I still think that they're gonna show all of this in the next episode when the situation culminates.

    2. I was really disappointed when Nina didn't show up when Peter was trying to climb into the Device. I'd want her to be there. It was SO strange. She could at least call Walter or Olivia to inquire about the health of Peter. She ALWAYS does that.

Of course I could be wrong (I hope so!) and there's some reason for her absence... Perhaps, she went somewhere else after talking to Olivia? OR probably Walter and others just didn't put her in the fame of that they were going to do. Like they didn't tell her about Bell's consciousness into Olivia's mind...
