I am not sure that we will know everything about Sam Weiss after this evenings episode. The answer may just lead to more questions...don'y ya love it!
Yes
No
I think "Don't Trust Sam Weiss" was an intentional distraction, to keep us guessing.
If Sam was "in on it", he wouldn't still be running the bowling alley on our side. He'd have vacated and gone over to the other side.
No, I think we have to trust him. He has lived this far... wouldn't he want to live longer? If so, he has to live somewhere. And he seems to genuinely care for Olivia. He's on our side and he is going to help our side. In a few hours, we'll know for sure.![]()

I agree, Davenate.
Fringe is like a Chinese box: when you open one box, there's always another one inside it.
(In fact, one of the episodes this season was called, appropriately, "The Box." A double entendre, to be sure.)

So now we know the history by other canonsSam was searching for the machine Peter had sent back into time in in the 1780s I believe. Peter freaked Sam out and had the last part of the machine that Sam was searching for which had been scattered over many years of the earths existence. Peter explained everything to Sam about the loop and made him the Protector of the machine and its contents so he wouldn't make the wrong choices again. Old Peter explained all his choices and told him how the next one should unfold so that is why their was inconsistencies with Sam's knowledge of the machine and or timeline. Young Peters conscious was unaware of this catching up event which was derailed by the Redverse(Walternate) So that is what I have gathered. Now for how old Sam is and if he is really old or a decedent is beyond me.
