David's Lapel Symbol - "Intrepus" and "Zeno" Connection?

This deserves it's own thread - as some of you have mentioned in other threads, David Intrepus guy was wearing an interesting (and familiar) lapel:



Is the same as the "A" symbol on the ZENO kayak which appeared during Olivia's dream state with John Scott (1.01):



The kayak also belongs to Olivia's uncle, so there must surely be a connection between David Intrepus guy and Olivia's uncle.

Any thoughts on what any of this could entail?

I am not sure at this time, however it does show how David Esterbrook has no problem displaying it in publicly in plain view. Obviously he does not fear having it so visible. Thus, he is either quite arrogant or the symbol represents something or some group whose affiliation with anything sinister at this point is not yet obvious to the general public. Just my quick 2c.

That's a good point. I will need to think some more on this, but the fact that it was so 'publically' displayed should indeed be considered.

I'm just curious as to why Olivia did not notice it and make the connection. Unless she was just so focused on reading David's eyes, she dared not stray away and have her concentration break.

Now we just need to figure out what it all means...

WM, yeah I think she was just too focused. It reminded me of the time she walked right past him on the train (1.03) - I know she didn't 'know of' him at that time, but I''m slightly surprized that she hasn't since recalled that moment, as she did appear to sense his presence

Tell me about it, MP. Once we crack this symbol it could open up a whole lotta meaning. Deknor managed to make this connection - which certainly offers some possible symbolizm behind the "A".

Also, back to 1.06, did anyone notice how David's lapel was slightly slanted in subsequent scenes? This probably doesn't mean anything but I thought I'd throw it out there, as they say

I noticed that his lapel was slightly slanted later, as well. I'm not sure if it has any significance or not, but hopefully we will find out soon!

Yeah, it's probably nothing, we'll just bear it in mind should anything come to light later on.

Maybe the Kayak was an amalgamation of Olivia's memories AND John Scott's. What I'm getting at is maybe the kayak was from Olivia's but the A symbol was from John's memories. If that's the case, then the A could represent the organization that John Scott was working for, maybe an organization that David Esterbrook controls/belongs to. That could also mean that the Zeno reference could have been related to John Scott's past rather than Olivia's.

Just brainstorming...
