Am I missing the ratings thread? Fringe slipped to a 1.2 demo with 3.51 million viewers.

Ya that sucks. Though I really think the last 3 bad EPs may have scared a few ppl off. My sister is one of them. After last night's good EP, we can hope they will go up a bit again. Not that it matters that much anymore... or does it?

It matters because the show needs momentum going into next season. The early renewal probably is partially to blame for this as some of the Nielsen viewers probably got complacent. But I would agree that Stowaway and LSD may not have tickled the fancy of some viewers. Hopefully after the people who recorded this on DVR watch this episode and see how good it is, they'll be more likely to tune in live next Friday.

Yeah it's been noted that Fringe was renewed, especially in the manner it was, with a good deal from Warner Brothers who produce the show along with Bad Robot. But no matter how good of a deal it is, it's not free.

I've seen a few people say that it was just the week, but Supernatural was steady at 0.9 in the demo. Considering the shows are similar I think it makes it tough to blame the holiday, weather, whatever.

Maybe it will be upped to 1.3 in the final, but the fact is, there has to be a number Fox considers laughable. I would consider that number 1.0, and I am scared that it's only .2 away considering it just dropped 0.2 this week.

Renewed or not, not a good sign. Nothing prevents FOX from slicing the order at any point, or frankly canceling it altogether. We'll have to see how the finale does but I am realyyyyyyyyy worried for the show.

With all of the live sports going on this number does not surprise me. We ahve NBA and NHL playoffs and MLB going on right now that take a bite out of already limited viewing audience. I would wait to see waht the DVR numbers look like before getting to worried.

As its been said before the raitings we see are NOT the only numbers they look at. There are overseas sales\ratings, DVD\Blu-ray sales, Itunes sales. online viewing, ect ect ect. I think Fox takes all of these things into consideration when looking at a show like this as the audience is VERY loyal and does not sway mutch.

Other shows were steady, like Supernatural. I wouldn't be surprised for it to be edited up to 1.3, or tick back up next week, but these numbers are very worrisome because they signify we have yet to reach the point where the numbers stop going down.

The problem is people have made excuses when fringe was in the low 2.0s, then 1.7, 1.5, 1.3, and now 1.2. You can always make an excuse but I just want to have the ratings level off! They just keep getting worse and that is not a good thing.

All the more reason to get active and get everybody you know interested in the show. I was never much of a partier on Friday night anyway, so I wouldn't have a problem staying in to watch a wicked awesome show like Fringe instead.

So everybody, get out, get active, and make more Fringe addicts! It's not hard to do, just takes a little effort and time.

I've written about this here before, but we used to have Fringe parties. Probably 6 or 8 friends that would all watch it. I can not PAY those people to watch the show anymore. Some left when they went with the AU thing, and others just progressively lost interest. We're all engineering students and fairly evenly split male/female. Some syfy fans, some not syfy fans. They felt the show was becoming contrived and loosing focus, and I can't blame them. I've tried to get them caught up with Hulu or whatever but they are just average TV viewers and hate the direction the show went. The whole pregnancy thing, cartoon episode, Bellivia, there's been a lot, and it's keeping people away from the show.
