Another idea is EST is typically just meant as "Eastern Time". Although it's technically not correct (Nice catch!), a lot of people would read 8:05 AM EST just as 8:05 AM Eastern.
Thanks Jay, I was thinking that maybe the dates didn't correspond but couldn't remember anything to base that on. Makes perfect sense.![]()

Omniscient_Jay is right about Daylight Saving Time starting on
Sunday, March 13, 2011. If this episode is taking place in early
March as she/he says, that would be Tuesday, March 8, 2011.
That's because Walter goes around naked on Tuesdays!
Avatar by me in this universe.
When it comes to making decisions in life, ask yourself, "What would my alternate do?"
For what was supposed to be a late-winter/early-spring day there was a lot of early fall foliage contrasting with the vortex-killed woods when Olivia was driving into the city to go to Massive Dynamics.
There's another problem: in the beginning of "Os", when he's working in the secret lab, Peter dates his taped notes as 3/15. That was a Tuesday. With the Bellivia affair taking at least a few days after that, it can't be any earlier than 3/22. DST has already started here.
The calendar in the AU is not necessarily the same. Plus, it's been indicated ("Jacksonville") that the passage of time is not the same in both universes.
I vote for a production glitch. They should have changed the name to "EDT".
Everything that I've seen on the spoiler sites indicates that this episode was aired in correct production order.
Maybe they are leading into an explanation why it's March and EST (in the altWorld, it's 3 weeks after Henry's 2/14 birth) ... and it will suddenly become clear where we got the other obviously blatant time 'errors' -- like Olivia's age, the date on Peter's tombstone vs. the timeline confusion in "Subject 13" or how Walter was born two years after his father died. Maybe all the 'errors' are deliberate, and connected.
