I think so too; anything over 5-10 mg would have a 50% death rate. Recreational use is anything under 0,5 mg, so even 2000 ug is considered a massive trip.
Walter asks astrid to prepare 2000 milligrams of LSD. The Wikipedia entry on LSD says that the typical dose is 100 micrograms and lethal dose is 1mg per kg of a person's body weight. He was probably supposed to say micrograms.

I assume that the LSD was for all three of them and as this wasn't for recreational use they would be taking more than the recommended dose in order for the mind to do what they need it to do. How how LSD did Walter give Olivia in the pilot?
Yeah, my husband and I looked at each other and said "isn't that a little too much?". But just because he asked for that much doesn't mean he used it all. Hopefully.
It's just a slip of the tongue. Astrid probably got 2000 micrograms and had another container with mgs just in case.

Whichever Olivia he chooses... her universe will survive.
He still has feelings for her.
They never said how much; they just listed what was in her drug cocktail (LSD, ketamine, and neurontin). But I didn't think of them splitting it between the three of them - that actually makes a lot of sense. I assume they'd have each been dosed with about 0,5 mg, leaving enough left over for Broyles to get high off it as well.
I was thinking similarly. I heard that line and was like... wait, what? 2000 milligrams?!? Holy crap!
As a side note, the ld50 of 1mg per kg is nonsense. There is a recorded case of several individuals taking over a thousand milligrams each, and suffering -no- long term ill affects(though suffering severe short term adverse reactions)(they thought it was coke, apparently...?). No realistic ld50 has ever been determined for humans. The ld50 for animal testing has varied wildly, from incredibly high values for some animals and incredibly low for others(like elephants). It is, however, a practice in some circles to take a 100mg dose as an initiation rite(this apparently usually creates a state of near catatonia)(referred to as a 'thumbprint'), and there are no confirmed overdose records, ever, for lsd. In fact only even one -unconfirmed- case, involving an indeterminate high dose of the drug taken intravenously, and no proper toxin screen was done to test for other substances.
Still, 2000mg is kind of insanely high between 3 people. Especially since Peter has never tripped before. Also, I get an impression that whipping up a batch is more than an afternoon's work.

.5mg per person isn't really very much, for experience psychonauts. Not likely to cause the ego-death affects that They seemed to be seeking. 3-6mg would be the best dose for such effects. Someone Who Is Not Me(SWIM) has taken 3mg(30 'hits) personally, and experienced only mild ego-death.
