    Default Rekka's Original Writings

I don't think I've posted any of my other non-fanfic material, but I just found a small piece of paper I had written something down for a part in my story-without-end that I started about 11 years ago. I'll use this thread to post whatever original stuff I've written to share with anyone who's interested.

This little monologue is between the main good (Hisoka) & bad (Gedeon) guys in my story, the one speaking, however, is the bad guy. Brief overview: Hisoka a resurrected demi-god Aurien, older brother to Gedeon. They fell out of friendship and were forced to fight each other in a right of passage (the Arena Battles) in "heaven".

A bunch of stuff happens, they get separated, Aurien eventually dies leaves the Arena battles unfinished...and Gedeon continues to search for him in order to finish the battles and be allowed to re-enter "heaven". Gedeon over the years is possessed by his hatred for his brother...and finally when they meet again, all he wants to do is kill him. What great brothers, eh?

    So here's the monologue...

I'm sure you thought time would never stand still. Not like this, the blood freezing in your veins, every thought on your mind squeezed beyond any hope of relief. You are trapped between this world and the next, with no chance of escape. And do you know why? Fate. That's what it is. Pure and simple, fate. Well, maybe not pure, but it is what it is. Once it gets its hands on you, good luck getting out. And after all this time, do you know the one thought that kept me coming back to the surface? The one thing that pushed me forward, kept me hungry to take yet another step forward? It was to see your face, twisted in agony. After all these years, that would be my salvation, my way back home. Your death would be the one and only thing that could set me free. And I would do anything to see that dream come true. Even...

And that's all I wrote, apparently. heh I sooooo need to finish this story.

Rekka, that seems to be really interesting. You DO need to finish it!

I know that's easier said than done. I am myself an "unfinished writter" with a dozen of projects screaming out for me from the drawer... (Too bad I was born this poor and need to work full time ) But when an idea is worth pursuing, we have to go for it.

Thanks, Talita! yeah, I have many original stories but they're always so broad and complex that I usually never get around to finishing them! It's horrible.

But this particular one, entitled "The Legend of the Golden Dragon", is my main story, though. I haven't written anything new for it in a LONG time, although I have been sketching the path forward in my head quite often.

When I first thought up the story, I was planning on having it be a trilogy or three-parter, but in recent days, I've been thinking about cutting it down to only two. It's been 11 years now since I started writing this...and I'm not even close to the end yet! So I think it's best that it get shortened a bit or else it'll never get done! lol I'm up to Book 2, Chapter 13 so far.

If you're interested, you can find the story here:
    http://gdragon.firesanctuary.com/

I've got a somewhat concise character list with images, some drawn by me and others by a friend of mine, to help introduce the main cast.

Ugh, I want to post more on it right now...but...I'm already running late this morning.....

    Woow, Rekka!

I was amazed by the factr that you've created an entire world! Not only writing, but also drawing it all!

    I'm fascinated.

Can I ask you a question? How do you feel about it all? I mean, when we're writing, they're there, with us, all the time. Most writers finish and publish as soon as they can, just to be finaly free from all that haunting. Other say they enjoy the "company".

How do you go about it? Have you already accustumed with Kenage's company (or Akumas's haunting for that matter )?

Ooh! Thanks! I'm not a good illustrator but when I hit certain important points to the story, I *have* to have cool artwork to go with it. I also kinda collect animation artwork, so maybe that's where my love of art comes from, specifically anime-type artwork.

I can't imagine ever putting these guys away, which could be why I've been so slow finishing this story. Maybe it's reading too much into it, but really, we ARE the characters we write about; it's just to what degree are we similar? There are aspects of my main character that I'd wish I could have. Plus, writing about these characters has always been a nice flight of fancy, to explore a world that is similar to ours, but different... (did that sound like Fringe or what!? ) And for those writers who would be OK with shelving characters so easily after the story is finished... I couldn't do it, ever.

How do you go about it? Have you already accustumed with Kenage's company (or Akumas's haunting for that matter )?
Oh definitely, I can't count how many nights I've fallen asleep while playing out scenes that I've yet to write. What's interesting though (maybe it's presumptuous for me to say it!!) is that both Hisoka & Akuma are basically the same person; they're fragmented pieces of an ancient dragon god's soul. So I get to write the really goody-too-shoes type (not really) along with the sadistic and evil bad guy. heh And one of my favorite themes is 'whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.' So I tend to be pretty mean to my main characters... but somehow they make it!

So yeah! You write, too, right? What do you like to write?
