Default 1.19 - Us or Them

    Okay...

Just finished watching this episode and I enjoyed it. But then I'm not overly invested in The Event as I am say with Fringe as a series.

I visited an Event forum before starting this thread, out of curiosity, and the criticisms about 1.19 'Us or Them', while quite valid, make our criticisms over here at FF [re Fringe] look like kiddies play. Man, The Event has some serious, maybe over-serious, followers out there. Whoa!

Anyways, I liked how things pressed ahead with swearing in the Acting President while Elias is convulsing in the hospital. I like Blake's character - cool, calm and vicious, tho I felt pleading with the acting prez was a little off key for him. Oh well.

As for Sean and Vicky, okay things are getting a little hokey here with Vicky's fluttering eyelids 'n all but hey it's all good fun. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Super Chick. Well at least I hope we haven't! Heh. The red herring guy on the plane I found quite amusing... it was kinda like he was caught with his pants down the way he scurried off back to his seat.

Michael, oh Michael, bought the farm after all. And he even managed a 'I luff yo...' out of his already rigamortising lips for Leila to digest before carking it, while Sophia's henchmen stand around ready for a cigarette break. Oooh, but our Simon is rabbiting... with Elias's antidote no less so we have more to look forward to on this front.

Sophia Hitler Bonaparte huh? Well she certainly took the reigns in this ep. Good for her. We all need someone to point our rocket launchers at when the time comes right? So why not her?

Honestly, I take this show for the fluff it is and I've been enjoying it for that reason. Željko Ivanek single-handedly redeems this show, not a big Leila fan here unfortunately, and as for Sophia the Slaughterer - well she's not quite Darth Vader material but I'll keep watching her dastardly shenanigans nonetheless.

Probably the overriding question out there at the moment is this: when is the Event actually going to happen? And given the show's timeline 2.5 billion aliens are gonna need to get their butts off Planet Sophiasville within the next 12 days or BOOM!!! According to one poster: That's 208 million a day or 8.6 million/hr, 144 thousand a minute. Splat, splat, splat!

Lol. I honestly hope they get another season. Rating: 7/10

Just watched all the episodes recently, pretty cool show. I find the acting to be pretty horrid though. The plot of the show is really great though, hopefully it gets renewed for 1-2 more seasons.
