Tech and Universe Viewing

Where do shape shifters come from? Not from our universe and not from Walter-net. Where did peter end up in the future? Where are the observers from? I think there may be a 3rd UNIVERSE ... I think that peter went to the 3rd Universe.. I think shape shifters and observers are also from that universe. For peter to return as a massive energy source is just to advanced for the combined universes so he must have future tech to cross through the universes

the only universes in Fringe is blue/red + orange(bridge) so i'll say 2 universes, but they have been altered because of the bridge

peter was nowhere yet he had awareness, i don't think his essense ever left the blueverse though..just dislocated

observers are from "someplace far far away" and exist in the 7th dimension (sarcastically according to peter in 1x04)

My own theory is that the Observers come from a 3rd universe, which exists outside normal time (hence their ability to appear
at different points in Earth's timeline). I'd been wondering if Peter had materalised in the Observer's universe post-TDWD, but if
so the Observers could have gotten rid of him without September having to visit Earth and build the strange machine with
the component December gave him.

In the show they referred to red and blue as separate universes. Peter said at the end of season 3 right before disappearing "I've torn holes in both the universes, and they lead here to this room." Also Walternate says "you shattered my universe". So I said 3 because of that and the orangeverse created from the bridge. Though I am inclined to think there are an infinite number of universes. We are only seeing a few because these are the results of the observers interfering, making them the most interesting for the show.

I don't think where Peter went had anything to do with the observers because they didn't understand what was happening with Peter coming back. I would also tend to agree with dolemite in that Peter never actually went to a different universe. I think his energy was somehow displaced - and also following what Peter said about the 7th dimension, I think that the observers do in fact come from a different dimension rather than a different universe. I know Peter was joking, but the Observers are clearly a different type of being, and could therefore be 4th or 5th dimensional beings. This would indeed explain the way they travel through time, or perceive time.

so that's where Peter was. he was still here he was just out of sync thats why we got the bleedthrough

I'm not sure that it was actually technology that transformed him into energy... I think it was just because he was hardly existent because of the paradox of his choice.
