man, i hope this is the case... i like the idea of Peter "ending up in the wrong universe" i never considered it

it would be a great bailout WHEN the current storyline really goes off the rails

many have been looking at it as this is just an alteredverse because of the bridge in which Peter dissapeared, the damn showrunners probably tricked us, damn!

in reality yeah, Peter did dissapear but he ended up somewhere else, the observers were merely a distraction

it would be cool if on an upcoming episode they totally wtf everybody and the episode just starts with a crazy opening scene and then bust out with the classic blue intro

My nephew and I had Chinese last night and talked about Fringe's verses.. I agree we're talking about multiple universes, and I am positive we have not yet seen all of them. Remember, the ones we have seen so far were triggered by the death of Peter in one or both universes. That means that there must be universes where either or BOTH Peters lived to adulthood. The story possibilities of an evil Peter vs a good Peter are tantalizing, more so I think than the Walters going at it.

In short, buckle up. It's gonna be a bumpy ride.

The potential is pretty much unlimited! The writers have never taken anything off the table, including the possibility of different dimensions being separated by time, but close enough that they can rub together. A bumpy ride indeed!

However assuming they were from a third universe does seem possible after all the stuff Walter was saying about a third universe.
I suspect, while the show-runners hinted at the possibility of several universes in "There's More Than One of Everything", that this might have been
an idea to hold in reserve in case "Fringe" turned out to be a huge hit like "the X-Files" or "Lost". Putting in another Earth-like universe at this
stage would probably be confusing, (already, a Blueverse with TWO timelines,
and the Redverse) and make the show more like "Sliders" or "Charlie Jade".

I suspect if we do see a third universe, it won't be anything like the two we've seen.

Could it be the wrong universe if Walter and Olivia see him in their dreams? Haunted by him?

Maybe Olivia was dreaming of him because of her "abilities/cortexphian" and felt his connection to their current universe, whereas I dont believe Walter ever dreamed of him, but Peter was reaching out to him by making him see him/hear him because of their "connection" father/son.

    ^ exactly

Olivia is the one who brought him back

Peter even asked Walter why he was back and how'd he get here... then you get the standard transition where Olivia comes into frame

her ESP ability conjured up Peter
