Does it seem to me, that there has been a definately theme of transparency in this series, after the Transparent Shapeshifters and Eugene. Eugene + Doctor from Novation=Transparent Shapeshifters? I think the writers might be trying to show how the transparent shapeshifters came to be. The shapeshifters hinted at the fact that on the other side, the doctor in Novation had a large role in the creation of the shapeshifters and if you add the transparency of the child in this episode you get the transparent shapeshifters?

The Shapeshifters are definitely Massive Dynamic related but I suspect these ones have something to do with David Jones. You know how in this timeline Walter doesn't save John Scott from the skin condition? I wonder if maybe the chemist from that episode also got away and is somehow involved with the creation of the new Shapeshifters, the similarities seem to big to ignore.
