Isn't it obvious? Maggie did it.![]()
I dunno, the more I watch Fringe, the more a quote from the movie Dune keeps popping into mind, "I see many things. I see plans within plans..." Well I don't exactly SEE the plan here, but I feel that something is fishy here.
A few episodes back, when September suddenly appeared to Olivia and was seen with a nasty gunshot to the stomach area - but then dramatically disappeared as she looked away - many here thought that it was the other Observers who had "shot" September for having not obeyed their orders and allowed Peter to come back...
Well, they're just now getting word that September disobeyed. Which means either that September was shot by someone else Or that he ventured into his own future, saw that he would not survive due to a gunshot, and then went back in time to warn Olivia about her own demise but also visually cue her to his own future fate.
If it is the latter, and he has seen his own future demise at the hands of his fellow Observers, then it would reason that....
Dah, there's still too many unknowns here.

And on top of all that, did anyone else get the feeling that the Observers were looking to recruit that asian guy, even to the point of teaching him techniques and stuff, but upon finding that he was kind of screwy, that was why he ended the way he did - they Pimped him!
They were like, well, he's got a few screws loose, but at least he can do some jobs for us plus a few other things. And how in the world did he get a hold of September's device anyway?
And I also think that maybe the asian guy had had no contact with the Observers, but might have simply found that device (which September lost) at a young age. What if that thing is a kind of teaching device or something. This is what made him become smart, enter at MIT, and made him go partially crazy with the stuff it taught him about the Observers and such (well maybe not the Observers themselves but at least their world-view as it were.) Then the Observers eventually picked up on this guy, followed him about, saw what he got into, then let him proceed because his actions fit in with their plans for some reason. Perhaps the device is exactly how the asian guy knew the feds were coming for him. He used its future predicting functions on himself and there and then he knew that if he continued using it, he would wind up dead. Which he wouldn't have wound up dead really, but only because of his desire to be an angel - and maybe to keep the device a secret - he let himself get killed.
Think about it, he gives up to Agent Dunham. They ask him how he was able to do the stuff he did, and perhaps through "advanced interrogation" they could learn about the device. They could find it just by searching his place. But then you could ask, why would the asian guy care if they found it? Ha, my gut tells me he is somehow in league with September in a way - or was. I mean, again think, how would a being such as September ever lose an article such as that device? I know they make mistakes, but the mental power of the Observers suggests that he deliberately let it go. He let it go perhaps, because if it is a kind of teaching device or a device that helps him see the future/past/present, then that is how he was able to let the young Peter of the amber-verse die. You know, out of sight, out of mind. He also might have known the asian guy would get it and provide the catalyst much later for the Fringe team to get on the path of following the Observers. I know this is all guess work and I have no idea why he'd want to the Fringe team to search for the Observers. We could speculate but this is as far as I'm going on these tree branches!
Personally, I think that the Observers do not know EVERYTHING, but they definitely know about 90% of everything, or some other retarded amount. Much more than the regular man and anyone on the Fringe team at the moment.
I wonder if that bullet was a through and through. I think nobody shot him I thikn that September stepped into a bullet meant for Olivia.
I'm not sure that's how the observers work. I don't think they exist in all time periods, but rather can view all time periods using that device the way Neal did. This has always been a theory of mine since the episode with the empathic "boy" they found. Oddly enough, the glyphs for this episode spelled out "EMPATH"
I think they're talking about Maggie Simpson, referring to the 'Who shot Mr Burns' storyline.
I like your theory Ironheart, but I am still not convinced that they can see every concequence of every decision, as the Observer explains in 'The Firefly'. Which, in theory means there is a way for Olivia to survive what has been forseen. Maybe that is through the Observer saving her, maybe he has to give her a warning to ensure the correct future takes place?
It's pretty clear that December didn't shoot September, because Observers never used our kind of firearms....
Maybe September doesn't have the same skill set, but remember that August could "catch" bullets fired at him?
