Dabbling In Fringe Science
Fringie
If Olivia is blue Olivia, what about the dead people?
Ok so in this last episode, Peter found out that this Olivia which he thought was a new Olivia, turned out to be his Olivia the whole time. Therefore reason stands that everyone in this altered blue and red universe are the same person as the ones in the original timeline, even though they have had a change of memories.
But that brings up a question, what about the people who died (or died in a different manner) in the original timeline before it was changed, and now never seemed to die?
Are they the same person?
Let me begin. We know that in some form, the "soul" exists in the Fringe Universe. Something that makes that person who they are, but somehow still exists even though there body is gone. We saw that with William Bell. He died, his body was gone, but somehow his "soul" existed somewhere (limbo?) and returned to possess Olivia's body. Yes his "soul" seemed to die from within Olivia, but that doesn't excuse the fact that for a time, he existed somewhere, even though he was physically dead.
So in this new timeline, since Peter was erased, they never went to the Red universe to rescue him, therefore Bell did not die like he did in the original timeline. So how does this work with the altered timeline? At some point in the original timeline, was Bells soul/consciousnesses (what ever you want to call it), taken out from where it had been, and reborn in the new altered timeline with a new body? Im trying to say that in the Fringe universe, 2 people can be physically identical to each other but still be different people, because they have different "souls". So if this Olivia was blue Olivia the whole time, that means that they had the same "soul", does the same go for William bell of the altered timeline?
And what about alt. Broyles? Sure he could already have died and be replaced by a shapeshifter, but that doesn't change the fact that this alt. broyles did not meet the same fate as he did in the original timeline. But if he is the same person as the Broyles that sacrificed his life for Olivia, then he must have the same soul/consciousness, even though he isn't aware of it because of the memory changes.
Same goes for Jones.
So were the people that died in the original timeline had their soul reborn? Or was it just another version of them created, and they are still dead? Is the fact that blue olivia did not die in the original timeline, part of the reason why she is the same person in the altered timeline?

Enduring Memories
Everyone is physically the same, just as they have always been; it's just that some people that died at one point did not, while others that were alive died, and the deaths of others were changed to different circumstances.
In this light, no has been reborn; it is merely that many had their personal histories altered by a temporal rewrite. Their consciousnesses (or "soul") have always been the same as well; its just that for some, their consciousness never left their bodies (since they didn't die in this timeline), whereas those of others did (since they died in this timeline).
I guess it's like modelling clay; doesn't matter which shapes you mould, as it's always the same clay.

Think of it as a forked branch. On the day Walter crossed over in 1985, each person alive at that time had one past, but two futures: the one we saw during S1-3 that ended with the building of the bridge (unless the person died earlier) and the revised one we call Amber. For most people, the two are identical. Differences occur only for those directly or indirectly affected by Peter.
