It would be like saying Astrid is a bland character after seeing only the Pilot, though we now know that she is quite the BAMF.

For the record, I thought Etta was a pretty interesting character in and of herself, but it's really the Simon/Etta interplay and banter that I truly enjoyed.

I Know,I know. In the end,It really just matters how she interacts with Walter. That's how I base my like/dislike of her, bottom line. Y'know,I'd really love it if they have an episode where they show Olivia pregnant and Walter with Little Etta. That would make me so happy!

Nope , they made it so evident to distract our attention from Simon's origins. My money is on him being Bell's son.

Who would the mother of Simon Foster be?

Mona Foster? Scarlie won't be too pleased about this...

Simon was in university when the Observers first attacked in 2015, so he must have been born around the
1990s. Unless Bell deliberately hid him away, surely people who kept an eye on one of the world's wealthiest
businessmen would know he had a child (Bill Gates watchers know he has three children). Certainly a released Walter
would learn about his old friend having a son as well. And if Simon was Bell's son, who was his mother?
Nina is unlikely, as she would have been in her late forties/early fifties then (and according to the comics, Nina was unable to have children. ).

I know I know.. it's unlikely, still "Simon" being one name that Bell used, and "Foster" seems kinda suspect as a name (a hint at him being adopted?) , his parents being also seemingly aware of the invasion before it took place.. Well, maybe he's not Bell's son, but I'm pretty sure we'll find something about his origins later.

He's the adoptive son of Mitchell Loeb and Sam Weiss, who found love in this timeline, while his biological parents are Rachel's husband Greg (long before they married) and the cleaning lady from 3.07 who delivered Olivia's message.

Bad Robot produced shows have a tendency to reuse names so usually I just assume that when a name or several names pop up several times in a series that it's just a thing that Abrams and co. like to do like putting the number 47 all over the place.
