Default Henrietta: Cortexiphan Kid or are Cotexiphan Abilities Inheritable

    I have a question...
We see in the 2036 future that Peter and Olivia's daughter is able to mask her thoughts from the observers, but why should she necessarily have this ability at all? Did I miss something?

I thought that only thing the drug, Cortexiphan, did was to enhance/open up the abilities that a person already had (like light fires, telekenesis, telepathy, etc. Yeah, Olivia would technically have this gene, but so did Alt-Livia, who was never treated with Cortexiphan and didn't display any "enhanced" abilities.

Would this indicate that Cortexiphan can alter a person's genetic structure to the point where certain traits can be passed down to their offspring, too? Or does it mean that at some time, Henrietta was treated with Cortexiphan sometime in her childhood?

That's never how I saw the drug working. I thought it allowed the person to use a higher percentage of their brain, resulting in abilities, notenhancing abilities they already had. This explains why Alt-Livia didn't have abilities.

But, going back to your question, I see Henrietta's ability to block her thoughts as an inherited ability from Olivia. It could also be possible that it is something that could be learnt.....

You know, if the observers have the ability to read and wipe, what is to say that Olivia being protected and followed all these years by September did not somehow alter her genetic ability to block out being read by the rest of the (bad, non Monthly) observers? Perhaps he knew that he had to protect her (and Etta) in the future (well, their future at least) from the invading Observer population in 2015 and forward?

I imagine he could have given this ability to her somehow as another example of being a protector...

    Speculation yes, but plausible.
