Everyone's so focused on that crow bar! I think the idea was that DRJ just wanted to stop them from shutting the Death Ray down - not to kill Peter; on the contrary - if he wanted to kill Walter and keep those two safe it was the perfect place for them to be - the rest of Boston would explode and they'd be there safe.

So, the crowbar is probably not a sloppy written grand villain dying scene. It was just bad luck for our beloved DRJ (who, like all serial killers/grand villains always comes with all his thee names) - Peter turned out smarter and figured out how to shut down the Death Ray (and without any help from Austin Powers too!)

    HERE, THERE, EVERYWHERE..

The episode was like watching an SNL skit.

Heck, we still don't know what was up with the "new" shapeshifters... and something tells me that that won't be explained in the S4 finale. :/
We do not know if Belly was behind DRJ in Season 1 or not. Turns out that Belly 'summoned' Olivia to the other side not to talk about Jones but rather to warn her about the other side's invasion of our universe with shapeshifters...which were conveniently designed by Belly as far as I remember (apparently DRJ and Belly have been trying to induce war war between the universes as part of their masterplan). Thus it is very likely that DRJ/ZFT/Bell had this plan from the beginning, everything appears to make sense now.

'Tis I! PB! Come to defend this mind bending cinematic triumph from the likes of you nefarious detractors and naysayers! I will now single-handedly debunk each and every one of your most blatantly egregious criticisms and pejoratives with all of the distilled creative discipline and critical clarity and foresight of Pinkner and Wyman during a 24-hr cocaine fueled script writing binge! Without further ado!

Why didn't Jones just kill Peter from a distance with a gun ? Why make himself vulnerable to attack, out in the open, in a FIST FIGHT WITH A BEATING CANE ?

It was pretty obvious to me, and I know from sophisticated script writing, that it was never DRJ's intent to kill Peter nor Bell's intent that he die. The understanding between Bell and Jones seemed to be that Peter needed to be removed from the equation, not killed, at least that is how Jones understood his responsibility. If DRJ wanted Peter dead he would have simply killed him. His attack of Peter suggested he was more interested in simply subduing him whilst seizing upon the opportunity for a quick calisthenic work out with the crow bar. How could DRJ have possibly known that Olivia could go all telekinetic Rocky IV on his a$$? Poetry in motion people, cue the Rocky Theme Song.

Just an appropriate homage to yet another cinematic triumph good sir, Pinkner and Wyman are truly standing upon the shoulders of giants. Disco Ball death rays, hot inter-species man on porcu-bat erotic action, par excellence my friend, a true smorgasbord of creative ingenuity to slake the appetite of the discriminating sci-fi fan.

Blasphemy! This is only the beginning of Pinker and Wyman's Magnum Opus! True creative genius is always misunderstood and maligned by those who lack the critical sophistication to recognize and appreciate a real masterpiece. With the critical acclaim and outpouring of enthusiasm from awestruck patrons of the arts this unprecedentedly magnificent tail is sure to inspire we have likely yet to see this story reach it's full potential!

I'm thinking big here people! The Fringe! Musical on Broadway! Porcubats on Ice!!! Imagine the possibilities!

They made DRJ look like a fool and I'm pissed because he is everything but a fool. We have seen that in the first season.

Yes, PB is quite the magic man as far as sarcasm. Although not quite as good as OJ. With their powers combined though....will the world be safe any longer? Or will it implode from the massive amounts of the sarcasm that will be introduced if ever they joined forces....*shutters*

I suppose such a partnership would be something to see, though we'd certainly be no Pinkner and Wyman.
