    Default Direction then mis-direction and then re-direction

    First, let me just say. I love this show.

    In the beginning:

    /// Direction ///

    All about Peter and his death and then kidnapping and saving. The two worlds are the focus and Peter means something, somehow to save them.

    Summary: Show is ALL ABOUT PETER - he is special, someway... somehow.

    /// Mis-Direction ///

    Peter bridges universes - all is well for the most part. Then erased and woven back in...

    Summary: Leads to Re-direction of what we thought was Peter/Plot/Savior, etc. to Bell/Walter, etc.

    /// Re-direction ///

    Bell/Walter - New world, destroy old. OLIVIA is the chosen one, NOT Peter.

    Summary: Observers, stop observing and take over because humans are fools. lol

    Like I said, love the show, but it took a major dive when it wasnt about observer changing Peternate's future in Redverse. And somehow Peter was the chosen one.

    I do remember when Bell said to Walter, "Olivia was our greatest creation" or something like that...

    Possible outcome I have been pondering. If season 5 comes into play as #Fightthefuture. It is possible Walter/ Peter block out the Observers all together from ever observing and seizing the invasion. It is quite possible Walternate saves Red Peter in his timeline and Walter never needs to cross over to accomplish his task or failures. Maybe there is a chance Walter saves both peters' and life goes on.

    I know it would take away so much again put Nina said to Simon you the risks of saving the world in 2036. It would be a complete reset and maybe Peter could meet Olivia one day because they have seemed to always be destined by fate........

    I don't think there is going to be "another reset" but its possible that we may follow both a 2036 storyline and a present day storyline, until something that happens in the 2036 era diverts the flow of the current timeline that we are in the process of watching, therefore stopping the 2036 future from ever happening. If this happens, it would technically be "another rewrite" but we would be seeing it unfold in the "present" in real-time, so we would never actually view the events that are being altered.

    The idea above might be plausible in a finale, though, although a bit cliched..... by stopping the invasion, or (in whatever way the invasion is stopped), the entire future of the Observers is cast aside, including their interference, therefore September never existed, and was never there to interupt Walternate, thus restoring the original timeline. Everything disappears in a flash, and an epilogue centers in on Olivia, Peter and Walter and Etta, much like we've seen them, with a happy ending and some throwaway dialague revealing that this Peter lived his life in the Red Universe, and chose to come over to our side of his own free will, and has a good relationship with both of his "fathers."

    I would bet anything that it will not be that simple. The writers have shown time and time again, that they enjoy shock factor reveals, and endings. I do think the final EP will give closure (or I will freak out), but I think that the chance of the above scenario playing out is fairly unlikely.

    The way the writers have written the entire series, I have to assume there is more going on than what we are speculating. Expect some things none of us have predicted. Let's just hope the last 4 years haven't been wasted on a bad ending to an amazing show.

    I do not believe they are going to end the series with a reset like that; I was merely responding to some the conjecture. I *do* believe that the present day Fringe Team is going to use some type of knowledge or device from the 2036 adventure to divert the Observers from taking over in the present, however. Either way, its going to be quite an journey.

    Some great points here now we know from the writers there will be flashbacks. After I watched season 4 again that type of rewrite is well Arggh. But it will not be IMO like what we are use to seeing. Olivia might only be in flashbacks. Maybe she held the observers off so the team could be ambered. Maybe they don't know of the location since it still present in 2036 and Olivia had to use her mind to lie to the observers. Just like the mind reader who asked Olivia why cant I read you.

    Anyways it is fun to speculate because I might be entirely wrong this fall about what I perceive of the show. I just hope they finally unleash all the fringe world upon us with more answers and non-fillers. One of my Fav EP is welcome to Westfield besides a few others and the pilot. Those really stand out.

    Rewrites and no memory of others really bogged season 4 for me so the reset Is meh. 2036 is when Walter builds the machine? He has blue prints in 4.19. Like he said in the day we died he couldn't send it back in time but he has no choice but to build it.

    Maybe everything in the past has been witnessed? Maybe we are already in the future? Dunno gets confusing but we do know Walter has been to the future and possibly ww2 era. I think there lies the first people as well and I always believe Sam Weiss could of been used more but there are so many variables to this show.
