Nobody knows what happened in the time Walter stepped into the wormhole. And we have no insight into what was "stopped" in the future. For all we know the events of the past re: certain observer events may still have taken place.

If erasing the observers were as simple as changing their creation, then they would've erased themselves by invading, as that would prevent the situation that brought about their creation.

One of the many speculations and theories in time travel is that it is possible to have matter present which has no creation. The Grandfather Paradox is the most well known time travel conundrum, how can the grandson even be at that place in time if he has not been born? Forget an incident that prevents his grandfather being born, that act of time travel itself would be enough to blow it all apart.

Of course it's tv and they don't need to get into the nitty gritty details of who's work they're using to spin their yarn for our entertainment. But think about this, September told them dates and times and where the creation of the Observers occurred, but he never said if it was in this universe. Maybe it occurred in the red verse which is why they did not invade there.

    Poof! Mind officially blown. Lol!
I had a fruit cocktail once. In Atlantic City.

Then Walter going thru time would change nothing. The red verse was caught in a destruction loop, so the observers wouldn't exist either.
