I don't care where they relocate to as long as the show still rocks... which I have full faith that it will!![]()
Aw, why couldn't they move the set to Boston? Then, not only would they be authentically filming it, but I might make a trip out there to see the filming.
I really do hope that the sets do not suddenly change. I hope Walter's lab can remain good ol' Walter's lab. If anyone has seen the Harry Potter movies, the look of the castle, and especially Hagrid's hut, changed drastically. In the first two, it was a straight walk to Haggy's hut. Then all of a sudden, in the third movie, the characters are walking down a curved staircase engraved into a hill to get to the hut. I mean, WTF?
Please don't change, Fringe!

I wonder what the WB will do if the State of NY refund the programme..
I'm surprised that they didn't wait for official confirmation.![]()
Well, at least they're in the same country as me!
Although, a little closer would have been nice... But I don't think Fringe would suit the Manitoba scenery.
At least I have some friends and family in Vancouver...
So, that means the whole cast has to pick up and move again? Man, sucks to be them.
Yeah, as long as the sets don't change too much, I bet I won't even be able to tell the difference.
I'm assuming Vancouver, with the current exchange rate, is much cheaper to shoot in, even with the tax incentive. It just sucks that this happens when there is an economic crisis, and when NY's unemployment rates are so high. I hope other TV shows don't follow in Fringe's footsteps.

It is kindathat they're leaving NYC but I'm not surprised. With the way things are going on in this city it seems like EVERYONE is leaving. I just wish them much luck and much continued success! NYCs lost is Canada's gain! My friend up north who watches the show too is gonna rub this in my face-LOL!!!
Well, get friend up north to invite you up there (during warmer weather, of course).
As I was reading this thread (and of course it's wishful thinking at this moment anyway), it would be a BLAST to get together in Vancouver sometime.
A more realistic idea might be to get together at either the New York or the San Diego Comicon. At least then we would not only see each other, but the cast as well.
Ah, just daydreaming..........the last time I had some money to burn, it was fun to put faces to names I'd seen only in thread conversations.
SourceThe film industry itself is not the only beneficiary of the tax credits.
Beth Kushnick, the set decorator for the science fiction drama “Fringe,” which is relocating to Vancouver in May, said the show had 200 workers here, most of whom would lose their jobs. Last week, when the program rented a restaurant on Broadway to use for a set, workers bought food and picked up extra propsat local businesses.
She added that the program tried to make a donation to the block associations of the neighborhoods it filmed in. For a shoot in Brooklyn on Monday, the program made donations to a waterfront planning association and a soup kitchen in Greenpoint.
