after last night's episode, his character is a helluva lot more intriguing to me ... he only shares so much information with olivia until she's ready for it, he's walking a fine line between doing his job effectively and appeasing the bureaucratic types to avoid being shut down, and he's basically taking his team's findings and turning them over to MD. wowzers.

Phillip plays the enigma, I believe he's grooming Olivia to replace him.

I agree, and his personality seems just right for the role he is playing in the show.

It occurs to me that Phillip is not as autonomous as he appears to be outside of his reference on trying to maintain the relevance of the group with the now every week occurrences of patterned related incidences. So much to learn, so long to wait.

notable facts:

he worked in the "private sector", thats how he made contacts like nina and the others in the board room scene i suspect. this makes me think perhaps he is giving information to them without the knowledge of homeland security?

he is bald...but why, might not be cuz he likes the michael jordan look.
