    Default Nina Sharp

Anyone catch what Broyles said to Nina at the hospital. Something about her being saved due to bits of Kevlar stuck to her ribs. If this is true, obviously her arm is not her only modification. This seems to indicate that she went through some major surgery at some point, including the new robotic arm. Could it be that her right side was injured when an inter-reality rift closed on her many years ago when the initial Bishop-Bell experiments were going on, and Bell and/or Bishop had to fix her up.

Nina's role in this mythology is still not clear. Specially her role in the original Bell-Bishop partnership. Nina obviously knows a lot, and only divulges on a need-to-know basis.

One thing I just thought of, but am not sure of (other posters can clarify). Has Nina ever met Walter since Walter came out of the looney bin? Even in this episode she doesn't. I wonder what memories that would jog in Walter

We've been told already that she was diagnosed with cancer and had to have her right arm removed because of it. Then William Bell designed and built her the robotic arm that appears to be lightyears ahead of anything anyone else could have offered her.

Edit: I should also point out that it was somewhat strange, when the story was told. She said she had been a runner for most of her life and that after joining Massive Dynamics she took part in the Boston Marathon and found herself feeling more tired than usual. She was then approached by William Bell who said she should go for a CT scan, which later revealed a cancer which could only be removed by amputating her arm.

Yeah -the kevlar thing struck me as weird too.
Jones and Sharp must have worked together pretty closely, yet he obviously thought that the bullet would kill her, so he must not have known that she has other internal replacements.
She was up and walking around very quickly, so I'm thinking she is the dead lab assistant and Bell rebuilt her -not just her arm but something in the chest area too since she could take a bullet.

I made a crack in the live chat thread that she seems like she's more robot than human. It wouldn't surprise me if she were rebuilt as you suggest.

What if Nina was coming through a portal from the alternate universe and her arm didn't make it in time and was burned off?

I noticed that throughout the episode, Broyles and Sharp kept looking at each other when Olivia was asking questions. Does Broyles know more than he is letting on to Olivia? It was as if Sharp was seeking Broyles' go-ahead before revealing anything more... ha ha.

Yeah -that's been nagging at me too!
I like the idea that nina was the victim of a closed dimension portal. Maybe there's hope for Jones yet!

It's a good cover story to give to someone who, at the time, was only superficially aware of the Pattern. Now that Liv is much more deeply entrenched with her Cortexiphan-induced abilities activated, perhaps the truth will come out.

but it's mentioned by Jones himself that "teleportation" changed him and that bullets simply go THROUGH him.
what if the kevlar thing is just a cover for the same thing that can happen to Sharp? What if her arm isn't the only trace of her having been through the same process? What if she's as bullet proof as Jones?

Oh, I just assumed that she was wearing a kevlar vest for protection. As she is a high-level executive of one of the most powerful companies in the Fringe world, it wouldn`t surprise me that she would be overly cautious (by wearing a bullet-proof vest to work)...........and that when she was shot parts of the vest found their way into her ribsÉÉ

(sorry É= question mark and `= apostrophe, sometimes the bilingual part of my keyboard comes on and I can`t figure out how to change it without restarting my computer...)
