The Observer..CBG..Baldilocks..call him what you will. Had this man of bald mystery not been part of the first season of Fringe - do you think the show would have been as interesting? In which ways would the show have had less appeal? Or do you believe he's merely a superficial arm to the show's prowess?

I felt very compelled to rewatch the other episodes when The Arrival aired, so I guess the thought of no Observer in the show would be inconceivable. He's the type of character who keeps every episode and mystery connected, and having him as a centric character in several episodes (The Arrival, Inner Child, More Than One) have automatically made them fan favorites. The Observer is one of the most fascinating concepts I've ever seen on a show....well, except for Mandy on 24 and the Haitian on Hereoes.

The last choice cracks me up!!
And hmm... a show without an observer? It's hard to say. The show (and American Idol) certainly wouldn't have the same feeling if you know what I mean.

I know I am a minority but I think that Fringe would still be Fringe. I don't think that it would have been so bad if the Observer character didn't exist.

i think the observer has a lot to do with the endgame of the show so i feel it wud have mattered, maybe not much had tptb introduced him in a different way, but heeey
    love option 3 btw

I voted the It wouldn't have mattered option but now there is a lot of buzz and advertisement and a lot of fringe-unrelated sites make a big deal about them.
I think that we are gonna have a record of huge ratings in this episode!!
So I think they would help the series a lot.
(but ofcourse if they weren't in the show I would still watch it)

    Happy Observers-day!!!!!!

I believe, that if we didn't have the Observers... it just...just wouldn't be the same. No. We must have our odd, mysterious, bald men in suits who eat food that's way too spicy and make scary predictions.

Fringe will still be the Fringe we all love even with out the Observers, but it`s even better with a little mystery surrounding it at every pace XD

I doubt we'll ever know why they have their peculiar diet of ultra raw roast beef sandwiches with jalapeños, black pepper, and tons of hot sauce. But I'd sure like to know why the writers chose such a peculiar food concoction for them.
