Default "New World in my View"

As one of my favorite characters in "Aliens" once said,

"Time to stop your grinnin' and drop your linen!"

That "sh*t is hitting the fan" doesn't quite cover it. And only two more episodes to wrap this up.

Holy Sh*t! Now I have to calm down enough to wake up at 5am. I have a lot to talk about, but I'll do it in the morning.

We get to see the Queen of Louisiana at last! The only higher authority than sherrifs and the Magister. And I've only heard about her from folk who have read the books. Bill looked shocked at the end looking at Her, blood trickling down her ankle. My husband said she probably just fed, but why would that shock Bill?

And for once, I completely agreed that Andy had the right idea running from crisis to crisis swigging a bottle of whiskey! I had "Night of the Living Dead" deja vu most of the show.

There's finally a good reason for Jason getting all that training and ammo. The combination of Bill's Glamour and Sookie's mind probing with Tara was a very dramatic scene! *claps*

I'm not sure that was as good as last weeks episode but I did still really love it! Can't believe there are only 2 episodes left!

AMEN to that! The sh*t really is hitting the fan! Can't wait to see how they wrap it up!

Yeay for the Queen of Louisiana! She wasn't in the books til quite a bit later so it's cool that she's coming into it now! I love Evan Rachel Wood! She's going to be so amazing!

I wondered the same thing about the blood - why'd Bill look so shocked? I agree with your hubby though I'm sure she was just feeding! Or maybe that was the foot of someone she's just fed on?

I quite liked Andy in this episode, he made me giggle!

THAT was brilliant! I howled with laughter at the 'I am the God who comes' scene! When Sam was trying to tell him to smite him! And then when he turned up again in the apron!

I really loved that scene! I liked how they didn't make it look like it was gonna be Sookie saving the day and really showed just how much Marianne had taken ahold of Tara! Really great acting on Rutina's part when she realised everything she had done and her reconciliation with her mum and Lafayette! Ahh bless!!

LOVED the Eric/Sookie scene at the beginning and was a bit gutted when it was just another dream! But then again I really loved the Bill/Sookie scenes too - when he was trying to protect her from Marianne and when they were on the porch together that was really sweet!

Which reminds me - what did Sookie do to Marianne? The glowy hand thing was really awesome! VERY exciting!

And I have to say Marianne was FANTASTIC in the episode! So beautiful and dangerous and deadly! Such great acting!

What about Jessica and Maxine? Ohhhh noooo! Will Hoyt be able to forgive her? Ooooh noooo! How exciting!!!

I still think the funniest line in the whole thing was when Jason said 'There's a new waitress at Merlotte's?' - always thinking with his other parts! tee hee

And one final thought - I absolutely LOVED that whole scene at the end when Bill is walking towards the Queen's house! The scenary, music and everything about it was just amazing! That house was beautiful and so was the song - apparently it's called I Got The New World in My View by King Britt (hence the episode title I take it!):

This is the first show of the season I've really felt the urge to gush over. They set the bar SO high last year, last night's episode was in league with the very best of any show they've done.

"This must be the worst intervention ever,", or something like that, was hilarious! "Jesus and I agree to see other people, but that doesn't mean we don't talk from time to time." Another paraphrase, but the entire scene with Lafayette, Bill, Sookie, Tara, and finally, a scene with Tara's mother that didn't make me want to slap her. It was so dramatic that it took Both a glamoring and Sookie's mind reading to get through, and it was done SO well. I didn't recognize the litany, but found myself remembering the Nicean Creed as they spoke together. It was very touching.

Awesome fake Deity appearance from Jason. Ryan Kwatan, I was so proud of the job he did as Jason. I couldn't believe it, something finally upstaged the grotesque orgy scenes that I hope won't be repeated as soon as Something's done with Maryann. "You're not a god, you don't have horns!" Then the deer antlers were propped up by Andy, and I understand the mind-possessed crowd was a little dumbed down, but that was terrific. An improbable scene carried off beautifully.

Todd Lowe as Terry Bellefleur! Oh my gosh! He was in full combat mode, that brief confrontation after he lit a cigarette and sat down to read Sam and Andy the Riot Act was priceless. Please, let's see poor, broken Terry regain some of this kind of self-confidence back, he was great.

Hoyt, his 'lovely' mother, and Jessica at Bill's house was something else, too. It's nice to see Hoyt "cutting apron strings". She hurt Jessica to the core over not being able to have babies. I'm being way picky here, but I would have played up Jessica's wounded reaction more than her rage. I certainly don't blame Jessica's response, but it's been so lovely to see her vulnerable side. Again, a small pick at what otherwise was a tremendous episode.

Lastly, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, ha, ha! Bill/Sookie fans like me have been wringing hands over how Eric's going to steal her from Bill. Mr. Ball, you can give her all the erotic dreams in the world with Eric!
I completely agree with other takes that Bill upped his swagger and his confidence, Stephen Moyer said
at the San Diego Comicon that Bill wasn't going to take Eric's seduction of Sookie lying down. At least for now, both the Eric fans and the Bill fans are getting what they want, YEA!!

Skibopple, that "glowy thing" may have been the most important thing we saw last night.

There's a rumor that Sookie has fairie in her. Remember the very first episode, when the chain 'tightened' around Rattray's neck? Originally there was supposed to be a 'fairie guardian' in the bushes guarding her. Supposedly Alan Ball took that out. But that's not very consistant with Sookie almost getting kicked to death in the second episode before Bill arrived. Another unknown mystery was, why was he late at the end of the first episode?

If we weren't supposed to see the Queen of Louisiana until the 3rd or 4th season, it's awesome that they're moving it up. As well as the glowy stuff. The only imdb credit I recognized was for "Practical Magic" (a must-see movie for anyone who likes supernatural, poetic movies), but she was a little girl then. The actress has worked a lot, I can't wait to see what she does.

And I can't wait to see how the Queen of Louisiana acts. Godric was such a benevolent creature (again I wish he'd stayed around to be an example to more of his kind). But then I remember the Anne Rice uber-old vamps, they weren't benevolent, or even civilized. Have you read "Queen of the Damned" by Anne Rice? It's Awesome! I really need to find another word to express enthusiasm....

REALLY??? You weren't gushing over last week??? really??? I don't know what but I thought last weeks was better!...still loved this one though!

LOVED Lafayette's one liners in this episode! I thought that Jesus and me speech was pretty sweet! And of course I loved the saving Tara scene too!

Jason was AMAZING!!! I know what you mean about improbable - I wasn't totally convinced by Terry's charge to move everyone outside when they threatened Arlene but I'll forgive them a few minor flaws for an otherwise amazing episode!

I'm worried about what'll happen with these two now! What's Hoyt gonna do? I understood Jessica's rage though - like she said she doesn't have a lot of control over her emotions at the moment because she's so new and she hasn't eaten! I thought she did really well to withold her rage for so long! I see her as more of a teenager lashing out because she was wounded which seems to be a normal reaction for a teenager (as I'm currently experiencing with my teenage sister but that's by the by!)

I'm quite liking these erotic dreams even though I'm a Bill fan!

Bill was tremendous in this episode! He really took charge! Loved his swagger as he walked to the Queen's house. AWESOME!

I hadn't thought about it like that - AB really is satisfying both sets of fans here isn't he! Excellent!

On a side note - do you think that statue is of any significance? The only reason I ask is I'm sure Sam saw that same statue at Marianne's when he was having a flashback at the beginning of the series! It seemed to focus on it again for a split second in this episode too! Hmmmm

Favorite episodes or not, sharing them with you skibopple is one of the most enjoyable things for me!

I'll try to watch it again tonight after visiting with husband. I REALLY need to get an Ipod! I used to use my Iphone for watching episodes for this or that tv show, kind of overkill on the monthly phone bill! I don't have one anymore, but maybe I can talk aforementioned hubby into aforementioned Ipod.

    "Second time around"

The sacrificial pyre was amazing. Flowers and meat, *shakes head in wonder*

"It's done. I'm a part of her now." I can tell you, masses out there are celebrating what Eric said, even if what he said was secondary to the suffering on his face.

Dayum, can Eric look tragic.Sookie kissing his tear stained cheeks was Really nice. That first scene is very sweet and tender. I may have to get used to this and not mind it so much after all.......

Andy and Sam in the cheap hotel room. A really nice duet scene. I get the feeling something important is about to happen, Andy gone over the edge and swigging straight from the bottle just doesn't seem that strange.

Bill about Hoyt's Mom: "Does she ever calm down?"
Hoyt:"Playin' Wii gets her to focus, but I wouldn't call it Calm."

Oh my gosh.I knew Ms. Fortenberry was an angry woman, but I just don't know what to say about that depth of anger at anything.

Jason: "This here's the war I've been trainin' for." The car hood scene outside Merlotte's was worth the entire Reverend Newlin subplot.

Sam and Andy walking into Merlotte's, the worst surprise party ever, the mob shooting up the place "At least shoot the cheap liquor! Bottom shelf, bottom shelf!", illustrated soon to be exploited dumb-downness.

Missed the first time around, lady who's always getting drunk at Merlotte's, supposed to call Maryann, calls 'for a good time call Peanut' for a good time instead, so Mr. Ball is showing different characters still have different intelligences perhaps? Terry Bellefleur was pretty intelligent, but also easily distracted. It was still nice to see a new Terry from Todd Lowe, thank you!

They all do such an ensemble effort, but I'd like to give a special episode shout out to Rutina Wesley. She played a character that's usually embarrassing to watch if not hit on just the right note.

"If I hadn't left such a hole in this girl, maybe this wouldn't have gotten in." I still hate Tara's Momma, but it was at least nice to hear that.

Monticieto, (sorry for the sp), I know you love Maryann, but she's not exactly a constructive force, oh, let's say, for the sake of argument, she's a distinctly destructive force. But I know what you mean about interesting villains. I'm tickled we're practically assured we'll see David Robert Jones again. Maeneds sound like they're indestructable, so maybe they can only just get Maryann to go somewhere else.

"When I was growin' up, I had a Nanny. Her name was Annie." (Who did NOT say "Annie the Nanny?" in that pause? "I called her Annie the Nanny. "In thecountry of the blind, the one eyed man is king. Fun food for thought, but not as cool as watching these two guys in the freezer. I love Andy Bellefleur and Sam Merlotte. *goes back to the show*

Todd Lowe's Terry just rocked. Terry vs Jason, but interesting it was directed in a manner that wasn't too malicious. "Sam Merlotte. There's no escaping, Sam Merlotte. The God who comes, always gets what he comes for. And as for you, Jason Stackhouse, not cool."

Oh, the comments that Bill was too brusque telling Sookie to give him her wrist. mmmm, sometimes you're not polite with your significant other, being sincere and all. That's my opinion.

The exorcism was very moving. I tend to think of them as frightening, but Bill's delving into Tara's head was broken up by Jason Stackhouse and his Smiting of Sam.

We have possibly a new show record for the word F*ck. And I say that with affection, and some . "You will all have great weather and good crops. Now leave."

Back to that badass excorcism. Okay, they are a little scary. Tara's eyes come back, and I go, "Rutina Wesley, you are a quiet treasure." The violin music score reminds me how much I appreciate the person who puts this music together.

Their short talk before they part (that's the Bill I know!) and their kiss, Parking Lot from last year, anyone? *sigh*

Jesus. I mean I know anger, and I know some folks are angry, but Hoyt's Mom takes the cake.

Grrreat architecture by the Queen of Louisiana. Security is very calm, but we're furiously discussing again why Bill shows that startlement at the shot of her leg and the trickle of blood.

That was better the second time than it was the first time, and it was pretty darn good the first time.

The girl in me has to also end on the Eric v Bill watercooler talk. Alan Ball, you gave Bill back his backbone, as another fan called it, I guess the price for that is going to be one hell of a triangle.

Skibopple, do you (or anyone else who wants to chime in the last two shows) want a separate thread for previews and what they might mean? 'Cause there's PLENTY to talk about this preview and the last preview.
*checks wrist with no wristwatch on it*

Skibopple (and TB reader/lurkers), I quickly watched the previews this morning before coming to work.

Husband had a great theory. Maybe the Queen is mourning Godric? I realize tears going all the way down your leg might be a stretch, but I thought it was a nice enough thought to pass on. I can't wait to see this actress playing the Queen you're apparently familiar with!

    Another preview note,

Eric looks like he's in a suit when Sam is telling him they have to trust each other to have a chance of surviving this. I find myself filling the "Eric!!!!" type of reaction sometimes, I'm so used to having someone post effusive notes about him. Suit looks pretty good!

Jason: "Sometimes you have to destroy something to save it." It surely wasn't delivered like a laugh line, I'm scrambling to think what he could possibly mean. At any rate, Rambo Jason is on a Mission!

I don't mind about the preview thread, which ever you prefer will be cool with me! I just did that last week in case people didn't want spoilers! Unfortunately for myself I'm the biggest spoiler-ho there is! I can't get enought of 'em! Dayum!

Oooh what a good theory! I like it! Hmm yeah that works for me! Great thinking! I don't know much about Evan Rachel Wood but what I've seen of her have been good! She was amazing in Thirteen - a depressing film but really good! Have you seen the Wrestler with Mickey Rourke? (if you haven't you really should - it's so so sad but really great!) She wasn't in it much but she was amazing in that too! I can't wait to see her as Sophie-Anne Leclerq!

No, I haven't seen The Wrestler, although I know I should. And you're so sweet, I know you love the show as much as I do. Look, I can do a post that's only 3 sentences!
