I did notice last week, there were places he seemed to hear what Olivia was hearing, though no one else did. He is VERY observant...probably saved his life a time or two already. . .
I've thought of that, too--also firing her weapon at Peter would have gotten her looked at as well. But the obvious damages and PTSD--no way she'd have her gun back.
I did totally love Broyles telling them to look out for each other!
Charlie gave her the gun, hiding it under her pillow.
Walter Bishop
is
ZEUS
They snunk that gun into the hospital, though. But yeah, I suppose it is kind of weird that, in light of all that's happened to Olivia, they'd give her her gun back. But maybe Broyles...?
I'm content with Olivia's language skills. Fluent German and some Arabic is fine. I'm just glad she's not obviously polyglot, like Peter. (Word of the Day, Polyglot, adj: Multilingual, speaking or writing several languages).
The allusions to Peter past, where he was obviously a lot colder and apathetic, were interesting to a Peter fan like me. The man they went to see, Ahmed, said "And this is something you care about now?" when Peter tried to appeal to him by saying that innocent lives would be at stake. That made me remember the Pilot, where Olivia had to literally blackmail him into coming to Boston, even after saying someone's life was on the line. Peter seems a lot kinder now. I mean, he was nice before, but kind of bitter and short-tempered. Now he teases Olivia and Walter and seems a lot more... I dunno... empathetic?
The cheeseburger part was awesome, and Astrid and Walter's friendship is nice to see.

For a P/O, every day is Valentine's Day!

That really made my evening, Gene going crazy about the cheeseburgers. Haha. Peter wasn't even done with it yet!
The episode was alright, except for the HUGE myth development in the end. Was it only me, but don't those messengers remind you of Nicholas Cage and those angels in City of Angels? Haha.
I hope they do get Astrid (at least walter knows her name now...most times) out cuz she's coming out to be more and more like Walter's babysitter. However, I do enjoy the moments she's having with Walter. Maybe it's a set up for a possible future episde where Walter might need agent Farnsworth?
I thought Astrid and Walter's conversation was rather suspicious.
How so, chaos?
Though I too felt something was off. When she said "I'm a creature of habit too". Something about the way she was talking... I dunno.

I agree. He has great instincts and observational skills. Now, if it's something that he's acquired throughout his life or if it's something he's had his entire life remains to be seen.
I loved that part. It gives us more insight to who he was, and also reminds the viewers that he wasn't always the way he is now. I think knowing Olivia and having Walter in his life has changed him.
She had the gun by the time Charlie got there, and he said Peter'd called him; I think Peter got it to her (maybe Broyles? he is worried about her too). Peter did call it a misfire, but Broyles knew he was lying.
Olivia speaks Mandarin, too--seems a bit much to have her speak every language, does she have a babelfish in her ear?
I like Astrid getting more lines, more to do---she seemed motherly---Walter! No fruit in the lab!
And it was cool to see Walter and Peter wanting not to hurt Gene's feelings!
