    Default Nielsen ratings (Final)

Here are the final numbers for Fringe for last night:
    Fringe
    - 5.781 million viewers
    - 3.5/6 HH
    - 2.2/6 A18-49
    http://pifeedback.com/eve/forums/a/t...6842#362106842

Looks like pretty much the same numbers week to week, it will be interesting to see the Live +7 in a few weeks. While I am not happy about the numbers, I do not think that the show is due for a cancelation. Fox is still doing a full point higher in the key demo compared to last year from what I have seen. The true test is when it comees back will it still have the same audience. My money is on yes, as Fringe had plenty of breaks last year and stayed fairly level. It is also one of the highest DVRd shows on television right now. Hopefully Fox doesnt muck it up any more and end up with a rushed or no ending to the show. I def think this show should only be on for 3-4 seasons Max. THis may be less then what most people would think a good show should go for, but IMO that would give this show a good begining, middle and end, without dragging things out too much.

Also, it appears this show is always always "back heavy", in this I mean they start off with a bang, fill the middle with "filler" then the last half is a rollercoaster of good shows. If you take a look at last yeay they did the same thing.

Wow. That's a nearly 300,000 drop from Fast Nationals. I'm wondering if Fringe was aired in all locations then.

The numbers aren't bad, and it's actually nice to see them stable. That's a rare thing. Usually they drop from the premiere - until you get to Nov. Sweeps. So Fringe staying the same is unusual, and most likely a good sign. At the very least, it's showing a solid hardcore audience that will watch the show live no matter where it's placed. And since Fringe is currently in the toughest spot in TVland right now, that means Fringe's TOTAL audience is significantly higher.

And my friend talked to someone she knows at FOX, and the word back from her contact was she "wasn't worried about Fringe". It's not official or anything, but I thought I'd just pass it along. As has been said, FOX's only real concern about Thursdays is improving the spot, and Bones/Fringe is doing that exceptionally.

Thanks for bring the numbers over. Yes, I was surprised too by the drop from the fast ones Quill. I'm worried about the hiatus though, I just hope people will come back, and not find new shows to get interested in, in the meantime.

Quill, thanks for that bit of info. I'm surprised that their not worried though. I know the whole spot has improved on what was there previously, but they may be waiting it out to see if it gets better. Honestly, I don't think it will. Unless, the show somehow generates good buzz/word of mouth down the track, this to me would be the only way to get more people to watch again(in this timeslot on Thursday). However, that doesn't seem to be the case at the moment.

However, glad that at the moment the show is safe. I think it will depend very much on how their other new shows do. If the mid season replacement shows do well, I could see them renewing them and not Fringe for next year.

E are some ideas about why Fringe won't be cancelled:

1.) it's on the most competitive slot of the week. It is competing with the Office, Supernatural and plenty of other fan based shows there. Obviously this is going to pound Fringe's ratings to a certain degree. Keeping this in mind, Fox is going to cut It some slack.

2.) IT'S J J EFFING ABRAMS. They're not going to cancel his show foress than average ratings second season.

3.) it did well in the first season.

4.) they plan to cancel Dollhouse anyway so they rill wait and see about Fringe.

THose are probably the early numbers, the numbers I posted were the Finals, thus the ~300k drop. As said before Fox is doing better then last year in the same time slot\night. The only thing that might do better is a reality show, but then again those usually tend to do better.

Fringe is a heavily DVRd program with more then 2 million people (and many of the important demo) DVRing this show to watch GA, The Office, CSI, ect. I wouldnt worry too much about the numbers, unless they plumet after the break.

I hope they don't plummet. This show is just too good and brilliant to give up on. I was sad enough that they cancelled Pushing Daisies and Life.

Wikipedia is user-updated, and that's the Fast Nationals. Pifeedback (the link Ph8 gave) posted Nielsen's Final numbers. Those usually go down, but not as much as they did this week.

I still think Fringe may not have been shown in some area, hence the drop.

ETA: Olive, "Pushing Daisies" is getting a comic book, if you're still interested in the story.

Yeah, the numbers I go by are from TV By the Numbers. They actually have the legit ones.

OMG really? That's great news! Thanks for letting me know- that show was so good and popular, I don't know why they cancelled it...
