    Interesting episode.

Much better than Dream Logic, in my opinion.

    Here are some thoughts:

    - This episode was very dark, and somewhat creepy. I liked it.

    - Although it was nice to see Philip's backstory exposed, it wasn't as satisfying as I thought it would be. The end especially was resolved too quickly.

-I liked the Fringe Science in this one. The idea of a radiation sucking hologram of an alien symbiote is very cool, even though they could have delved more into the actual parasite.

    - I missed the Observer. Broyle's intense stare and bald head made up for it, though.

I liked this episode more than the previous one, but it somehow feels lackluster. Something seemed to be missing; I can't quite put my finger on it.

But hey, who am I to complain. I'm just glad that Fringe is back.

By the way, you know what I noticed?

The following formula has appeared for Fringe episodes this Season:

The first episode was awesome, the next two were just good. The fourth one was awesome, the next two were just good.

    What's up with that?

    Have a pleasant night.

I liked learning more about Broyles. It was nice to have his character developed a bit.

I also liked the Fringe science aspect in this episode, but the episode just wasn't very exciting, and it felt slow moving. I definitely agree it felt like something was missing, and I can't think of what it would be either. It's a mystery, I guess.

And OJ, you find a lot of patterns, don't you?

I agree that the episode was slow moving. There wasn't a lot of action, just walking around slowly and holding drawn pistols.

I, too, had higher expectations, and maybe that is why I didn't enjoy the episode as much as I might have if it aired directly after Dream Logic.

    Indeed...

I hope my theory is wrong though, because that will mean that episode 7 will be super awesome, but the Observer episode will therefore be disappointing, which I could not bear to see.

Maybe they'll throw us off, and have them both be good.

This is what I was thinking.

According to Wikipedia, Episode seven was written by the same guys who wrote Ability, and Episode 8 was written by Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman, who are both the show runners of Fringe.

You can see that I am optimistic.

In that case, I'm optimistic as well.

Can we go back to season 1 awesomeness?
Seriously, i don't understant what they are doing this season. I already vent in the "disappointed" thread, so no need to do that here, but i'm starting to feel a little scared that the Fringe i love might be gone. It feels so different.

I share your fears as well, Aqua.

It appears the reduced running time, among other factors, is affecting the second season in detrimental ways.

Regardless, we must have faith, at least until mid-season.

Then we can be the judge.

Yeah something seems off or missing. My uncle and I have similar taste on entertainment and he was the one who introduced me to Fringe, and i saw the 1st two episode of S1 online and saw the 3rd ep live and loved this show ever since. I called today and found out that he stopped watching Fringe this season, he says is boring now and not like the last season. And i think I am starting to agree. So Aqua you are not the only one.

Maybe the low ratings is not only because of day and timeslot but maybe fans are getting disappointed or noticing a change.
