The link somehow didn't really show up at first. It should work now.
Of course the producers can change their mind. That doesn't mean that I have to like that. I don't like shows with aliens, so the problem is just that I don't like aliens in Fringe.
That's only my personal opinion, though.
XD
I don't have a problem with aliens, like the show V, but I do have a problem with aliens in Fringe. The show is way too cool and sophisticated for stupid-backup-science-paranormal-activity-things like that.

I'm thinking more of a "body and soul" relationship. I was in the assumption that the Russian fringe science can devise a way on how to separate soul from the body. Such that the "soul" or whatever the shadow may portray can suck out other people's souls by doing the radiation thing. Just a thought.
I just cannot accept that Fringe is doing aliens now.
Life on Earth was seeded by radiation and amino acids from space. There's nothing to say it hasn't happened elsewhere as well. While far-fetched, the storyline was not complete BS science fiction.
I'm guessing you've never over-over-over microwaved a porkchop. Yes, the radiation does serve to make the composition break apart in a brittle manner much like dust. It was made clear the "shadow" was practically pure radiation in and of itself (hence why Walter knew it wasn't in the host body), so when it passed through something it's plausible it would have affected the victim like it did. Like over cooking them in a microwave.

I have no problems with Aliens in Tv shows as long as thy keep it realistic and not giving us a space-troopers kind of ******** {sorry for the language}.
The X-files is a good example and the reason why I loved the series was that they shown us a story-line tv-shows never had shown before and the series was also refreshing.
As for Fringe: I could imagine that those "Obeservers" are in fact Aliens. There are 2 "worlds", as we do know now and it is already a kind of a SF... Shapeshifters, transporters, supersoldiers {oooh, where did I have seen this before?} ... The Aliens can't leave behind.... As long as they keep it re-alistic...
**hug**
That is probably not true. The most famous experiments on this are those done by Stanley Miller. He passed UV radiation through a mixture of methane, ammonia, hydrogen, CO2 and other gasses, designed to simulate the earth's early atmosphere, and found that amino acids were produced as a result. Later researchers replicated these results using different energy souces such as an electric arc designed to simulate lightning and found similar results. There is really no need to invoke external space-borne sources to explain the origin of life on earth.
