Where are these questions of yours coming from? I expect to see Leonard Nimoy off and on throughout the course of Fringe. Of course I knew about the leader. Who didn't?

But, if I weren't in such a good mood or I didn't know better, I could imagine you were calling me a liar.
    She's watching Fringe...again!

Ok maybe this will help put this to bed....There is absolutely no way that someone could have KNOWN for sure, however, they could have had a pretty good idea simply by knowing the show.

Monte, you're being rude. Some people are good at predicting things, and others have spoilers pop out at them (Damn TV Info button...). In hindsight, if you assumed that Paris was important, someone we knew, and knew Walter, you could predict with reasonable certainty that it was Bell. Plus...

THE INFO HAD LEONARD NIMOY LISTED AS A GUEST STAR. And it said, "William Bell Reemerges." At least, mine did. Some people just have spoilers thrown at the side of their heads without meaning to. And others can predict where the story is going. My mom's one of those people; she knew who Paris was without any spoilers. Half way through, she was like, "Oooh, I bet that Paris guy is Bell. You know, because the brain pieces are Walter's."

I agree with the others about the predictability of the episode, but to be fair that's what I liked about it. I do like watching stories that give you enough clues occasionally to be able to figure things out. It's more logical. The "out there" stuff is fine on occasion, but I like stories that actually make sense and I can see where the plot point came from. Grey Matters was a rather well written mystery IMO, like an Agatha Christie novel.

That's incorrect. As far as anyone of them knew, they know about Walter's device to open the portal. None of them however, know how to *make* the device. Only Walter did, and now that memory is gone.

I can't remember what happened to the device, but I think it's in the government's hands. And as we all know from Raiders of the Lost Ark, that means it will never be seen again.

My only disappointment is this whole opening the portal thing. The shapeshifters have been here for a while and possibly know about the pattern. It seems strange that they let Jones get the portal opening device first. Even so, they didn't even try to fight him for that. Its as if they didn't know about his plans at all. Having done the portal thing in last season's finale, they might have gone for it in a different way.

I'm not a spoilerwatch person and most of the time I can't even watch them => I get a "warning" that I live in the wrong region BUT I am able to watch episodes of different shows, as FRINGE. I knew in the very beginning that this Paris guy was Bell {I'm just like your mum } & I have that with a lot of TV-shows {who's dunnit and such}. I guess it has to do for "knowing" a show that well and of course watch the show with full attention that you are able to "see" things before it finally got "told" {I hope you all understand what I mean}.

What I try to say is,especially to you, my dear Montecito, some people just simply KNOW even without watching the "spoilers" and most of the time "spoilers" don't show much, only glimps. I really hope that your "banned"thingie {o dear, I just can't find the correct English word for it, sorry guys, my Dutch brain matters has holes, particular the translation section} will be undone soon and we all can discuss/talk with eachother again without getting angry + with full respect of eachothers opinions!

Well, for what it's worth.. I knew Nimoy was slated to be in the episode, but I got so engaged in the storyline that I utterly forgot & was completely shocked & surprised to find out that 'Belly' was Dr Paris.

A lot of the time I forget to watch for the Observer, too.. .cuz I get so engrossed in the plot of the episodes cuz.. .ya know, luv the show!

I can never find him (except in August, of course). I get too caught up in the plot of the episode.
