This made me wonder if Radjan was sent as a pawn of Solum Oil to attack the company. If Radjan knew that he is infected, then he is a willing participant. If not, Solum could have orchestrated it, knowing that Radjan would sell it to Vitas.
A bigger question is, why would an oil company be interested with soil sample carrying deadly virus? Mind you, they do know that there's a risk on that sample, hence, they seal it in airtight protective cover.
Having said that, why would Fringe will be interested in such case? Why would a rival oil companies be so interesting?
Perhaps because it is more than that? After all, Vitas Petrol is an anagram for Viral Test Op... it was merely a test, and could possibly come back for a bigger strike.
