Wow. I rambled there. Halfway through, I forgot what I was trying to point out
    Hi,
No you're not rambling at all, you're making sense to me.
I was wondering one thing. Maybe it's because my english isn't that good, but I thought I heard an observer say 'problability' instead of 'possibility'. That changed my view on things. Are the observers kind of pointing out directions for things most likely to happen instead of pointing out all possibilities of what could happen? By interfering or correcting.

I hope you understand what I mean. It is so much more diffucult to explain what you're thinking in another language... I'm curious what you guys think about this.

    Bye!

December said to September "you created a new set of probabilities". And it wasn't good news, clearly. I suppose they must interact without changing the main path of things, without giving new possible things to come probably in order to not create new timelines (by creating newchoices to make). That's how I understood it.

And btw, I'm not native english speaker either, I know very well what you mean about being difficult to explain his ideas in english, especially when it comes to complicated theories about Fringe

SEASON 3 SPOILERS... Just realized this is a S2 thread but given the recent posts I wanted to include some of the most current developments in the discussion - don't read if you haven't watched all of Season 3!

Great thread... knowing what we know now since the S3 finale there's a whole lot of other stuff to consider too. Since September caused Walternate's failure to save Peter, the war and its ultimate result (both Universes being destroyed by 2026) can be pinned on the Observers. As they can see all of time at once, they would know exactly the effects of their interference and would need to take steps to prevent them. Their observations of the pattern then make a lot of sense, as they're looking at and taking data on all the degradation and bizarre events that have occurred as a result of this hiccup.

This is why September interferes in S3 - he is preparing Walter as he knows Walter will ultimately need to sacrifice his son and allow him to get into the machine to avoid the catastrophe we see in 2026. Now with the finale, the Observers have interfered one final(?) time and possibly corrected the destruction of the two Universes. Peter, the piece of the puzzle they manipulated to attempt this course correction, has "served his purpose" and no longer exists. It will be fascinating to see how the Observers now behave in Season 4 and what insights they can give regarding the effects of Peter's disappearance and their own role in the Universe(s).
