Even something like finding out that the underworld has connections to Massive Dynamic...it would be a stretch, but it's a stretch I'd accept.

The weirdness is the reason this show is interesting. Bringing in common thuggery and placing the characters in danger in the traditional "bad guys want something" kind of way would just feel intrusive. I just sat through Brown Betty, the last thing I want to see is a warmed over version of some cop show.

Oh, that's not so negative. And really, I agree with you 100% that they shouldn't all of a sudden turn to some sort of mafia storyline. But I think that working Big Eddy in somehow would be a good idea. Maybe Peter could use the mob for something. You know, try to manipulate them into providing a distraction or hindrance to whomever our Big Bad turns out to be.

In fact, the Big Eddy and Evil Step-Father story lines could prove intriguing.

Think Peter is of very big importance for the Observers and they have to take him to the Alter universe at some point. So they are very worried something may happen to him now.

Maybe the warning is that if he doesn't keep Peter by his side (both literally and metaphorically), Peter will be the one who will bring chaos to the world.

I like that idea. Maybe the warning was to keep Peter here in order to prevent "someone from over there" from coming back. Maybe that was the deal - you keep Peter and we keep Bell in the alter.

I guess this should go in Speculations and Theories. Oh well

I believe this is true to an extent as well.

I believe, which has probably been said before, that Peter has an ability but not like Olivia's. I don't think we've seen his ability yet but it's important to the Alter universe, maybe it can only be used in the Alter universe?
