Dream State
Ratings naysayers seem to always fret if a show doesn't generate t-shirts, books, action figures, and somehow infects every other aspect of popular culture to which we are exposed; it skyrockets to the top, becomes a phenomenon, every single person on the street knows about it, then it stagnates and dulls - continuing to linger like the smell of rotten meat before sliding down a drainage ditch littered with Jump the Shark moments and backtracking retcons, until finally winding up in theaters as a movie which nobody remembers why it was made to begin with.
Not that I'm singling out any other paranormal-based television suspense series or anything.
Fox has ordered a third season. They're giving the Abrams-fanbase a chance to work their magic on this show.
