You have me thinking now. I guess since this is my second post ill play it safe and spoiler tag it.
Somewhere in the first? season i believe, they find older paintings/sketches of historical events and the observers are presesent in them.(one is the declaration of independence signing) maybe those are the moments where the large changes/differences between universes happen?If someone could dig up a screen cap of those from the first season would be cool to see if any of the events in those pictures account for anything on the map.

I'm going to re-watch season one. Starting tonight. Or is it today? I'm losing track of time!

And what of this "quarantine" business? I think it was alter-Broyles who mentioned that "we don't want another Boston"... reasonable to assume that alter-Boston needed to be sacrificed? Or was otherwise blown up by one of those Red Blinky Things?

I think it is. We know Boston was under "quarantine" (as well as the orange spots on the map; Delaware, etc.) and we saw that when Lincoln Lee put the quarantine "device" on and had the countdown, Olivia nervously joked about dying, and of course Alt-Astrid was calculating casualties. The guy on the street also asked nervously if the area was being quarantined. They basically told us quarantine equals a radius of mass death. How it acutually works is another thing.

There could be a difference on the East coast. I'm wondering what happened to make Texas 2 states.

Just looking at the map, the two states that make up Texas on this map are divided at the Nueces River. (Look it up if you need to.)

When Texas declared independance they declared their border to be the Rio Grande (What it is today.) The Mexicans, however declared that the Nueces River was the border.

My guess is that the Mexican-American War did not turn out the way it did and mexico got their way. But some where down the line America got it back. Which would have the original Texas Annexed in 1848 and the southern portion later one. Which would make 2 states.

I am guessing the southern Texas state came after the Civil War (if there was one) b/c the north would not have let 2 pro-slavery states into the union.

Sry for the rambling, just getting my daily historical fix.
