Jasika Nicole Biography

"Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Nicole attended a private college in North Carolina, majoring in theatre, voice, and dance, before moving to NYC to pursue her career in acting. She starred opposite Bronson Pinchot in the title role of the world premiere of the musical Chasing Nicolette, and has appeared in several stage productions in New York City, most notably the off-Broadway 60's musical Café A Go Go and the world premiere of Believe In Me…A Bigfoot Musical at the 2004 NYC Fringe Festival. She made her feature film debut in the ballroom dancing movie Take the Lead with Antonio Banderas, and other television appearances and commercials followed. Nicole was cast as the villain in the highly praised NBC sitcom pilot Mastersons of Manhattan starring Molly Shannon, and she most recently completed filming Dreamworks' Shes Out of My League with Jay Baruchel.

It was on the sets of productions (and on the pages of waitressing notepads) that Nicole began drawing more often, a passion she had recognized at a young age. As a result, she created www.jasikanicole.com to display her work online, and the site has since acquired an enthusiastic fan base. Her illustrations have been commissioned and sold worldwide and she is currently completing work with a major shopping network and several department stores on a line of eco-friendly tote bags adorned with her drawings. In addition to freelance illustration, Nicole writes and draws an autobiographical comic entitled High Yella Magic. "

Yes, I noticed that, I guess shes a busy girl, but then on the other hand, shes not in Fringe an awful lot so probably has some time. It looks like she was planning to sell her artwork on the site, she probably doesn't 'need' to do that anymore
